What to change after 1.5" drop

MustangMike2001 -> What to change after 1.5" drop (4/11/2008 11:31:52 AM)

It's just my daily driver that might see the drag strip once or twice so I don't really need the works. I would like to get my steering straitened back out though and maybe some better bushings. Suggestions would be great.

A few things I'd suggest after lowering your car...
  1. Caster/Camber plates - for correcting alignment, primarily negative camber issues (tires leaning inward)
  2. Bumpsteer kit - for correcting bumpsteer caused by lowering the Mustang
  3. Shocks & struts - to improve ride quality, and help dampen the higher spring rates

Sincerely,

Do I need the cc plates to be able to use the bumpsteer kit? I don't have those but I have the cam bolts I bought from you.

No, you can use the bumpsteer kit by itself. The installation of a bumpsteer kit is independent of caster / camber plates.

If you have camber bolts, and they're doing their job, then it should work out for you!

If I were to get the Steeda x2 ball joints would'nt that lower the control arm "eliminating" the need for the taller tie rod ends and sway bar post?

While the X2 balljoints do help correct steering geometry and front end handling, nothing works as well as a bumpsteer kit.

Infact, Steeda recommends their bumpsteer kit as well, in addition to the X2 balljoints.

IF you want to install one mod, to help correct bumpsteer the most, install a bumpsteer kit. Steeda makes a great kit, part # 555-8104.

Sincerely,
