what do you guys think about the matte black stripes on a black coupe? i saw this on the knight rider promo gt500 and loved it? subtle yet stands out and makes you do a double take.... opinions?
lol man i need to go to bed...but i got a job this week and then i have so much catching up to do on here...
i hear ya on the flat black stipes....im not a big stripe guy, but when they look right they look right....i might even go as far as to say i like stripes.. just more so on other peoples mustangs.....
i have toyed with this flat black stripe idea on black ponies...and when i have seen them in person they look awesome....i like silver too but then some might say your copying the shelby...whatever.... its your car as long as you like thats what counts.. so that said....
even though i dont have em... i say yes..... im on the fence for myself....but i will say it looks darn good especially when all waxed and shiny.

Do it, I wanted flat black on mine but they can't paint flat black and do the clear coat over it and still keep it flat...and I didn't want to go the vinyl route. But flat on black looks awsome, I say do it
i like it man. i want to do it on mine ive seen both the 427R black on black and the GT500KR blck on black and i like it a lot. it keeps it stealthy and down low.

that looks bad ass. that's what i'm going to be ordering for mine as soon as i get my new hood monday or tuesday! love the matte black stripes on black. subtle yet big difference when done right. not sure if i want the 2 stripes of one big one with the pinstripes yet though.
ok. done haha... so does anyone know a good deal on stripes? i have the saleen hood so i would need custom striping right? since the lines are different? or can it be a DIY project?

ive never ben a fan of the superstripe... dunno.. maybe its just bc i love the le mans duals... im thinking either 10" or 8" dual .... definately skunk style... honestly a lot like the knight rider car....however, any ohter stripe suggestions? (style wise..lol the color is pretty much set )
ill prolly also get a little extra and stripe my other front fascia.. my cervinis one... this way when i get better side skirts i can switch the front end out for shows... i took it off bc its a PITA for a DD
thanks for the input guys!

you guys gotta remember that although flat black stripes look ridiculously awesome, they are very hard to maintain. Every little scratch will show on matte black.. so if ur car is ur daily driver, i wouldnt recommend flat black stripes
Be realistic guys. Whatever is going to scratch the matte stripes is something that would scratch the car if the stripes weren't there! If you're talking about little rock chips-- that'll show on any vinyl stripe. I've had my 12" dual blue stripes for a year now, and this winter, the front got some nicks to the extent that I'll replace the front. The hood, roof, rear deck and rear bumper look flawless. I've already priced redoing the front, and I can get the stripes for $35. I'll do the work myself.
If you want something, just do it. Don't let one comment change your mind. Vinyl stripes don't last forever, and the nice thing about it is that they're easily replaced and inexpensive if you do it yourself!
