That's just because performance parts for Mustangs are alot more expensive then for a GTP. Plus i got the cheapest set of headers you can buy for a GTP too. A better set would of been twice as much. Also a GTP with 300 whp WILL run mid 12's. That GTP will have over 400 wtq. That torque makes a huge difference. I doubt a stock cobra makes 370 whp either. Maybe 330 whp, since it's 390 at the crank. I can show you videos of 300 whp GTPs running mid 12's and trapping 112 mph if you like.
What parts are you talking about? S197 mustang parts cause that's not a fair comparison, new edge mustang parts are about the same in price as your car's "performance" parts if you know where to look.
Mid 12's huh . Definitly not without a lot of supporting mods probably including a stall converter Mr.4-speed Automatic tranny in a 3500lb car. I wanna see your 12's time slip too . Stock Cobra's I've seen make 390rwhp, ever hear of cars being underrated from the factory. LOL do some research on that.
im seriously sick of looking at exhaust set ups and seeing a mustang lose to a ficken accord theres a vid of a termi losing to an accord aful and even worse driving. do you guys think thats the problem the poor driving?
I had a guy in a Civic yell out his window I was going to lose at a stop light once, after I put a few bus lengths on him he screamed NOS NOS NOS and did the 'ol fly by. Heck even if I had used spray who cares, anyway I know there are fast Honda's out there, there are a few who post here but I have never seen one on the street.
I saw one stripped at the track with a $20,000 engine in it running 10's at Union Grove once but anything that weighs 1,800 lbs should be fast with almost anything under the hood so I can't say I was overly impressed. The Honda crowd likes to yell about how they do it with just 4cyl's but in the end it's power to weight, be it 4, 6 or 8 cyl's, who the frig cares.

Easy, his headlights are so damn close together you just use "bus lengths" or "15 to 20 lengths" because the arse whuppin was so bad who really cares... OR, you're pulling away so fast it's hard to be accurate about how bad the whuppin is so you use a number that seems to make sense...

Cant watch the videos because I'm at work. And if a S/C Mustang GT cant run a 12.7 than he needs to learn how to drive. I cant watch the vid at work, so does anyone know what year the Mustang is?
Mine with just the SC, no cooler and street tires went 12.5 and with DR's went 12.2, this is about average I think for a bone stock 3V and just a blower. With Meth included high 11's shouldn't be a problem.

I'm hijacking the thread back to HONDAs. Why does everyone get bent out of shape if they loose to a Honda? You already know anything can be made fast, including hondas. They, like a lot of other car manufactures have a racing division, make race cars and sporty cars, and croch rocket motorcyles and such, and is a decent platform to build if your looking to do things a little cheaper and still go pretty fast. I'm not saying it's the best buy any means, and If I had to do it again I don't know if I would build a Honda, but it is what it is. A kid can buy a CRX, do a motor swap and be easily in the 12's depending on which motor and supporting mods for under 3.5 k. He could put together a turbo kit and be in the 11's or maybe even high 10's. Kinda like being beaten by a lotus exige if you want to look at it from a power to wieght thing, and I think most people will not cry about bieng beaten by an exige. His car deffinatly won't be nice, but it will be fast and would have been cheap. Now that's not gonna be all hondas though, like mine. My car is a heavier platform, and I have a lot more in it and I'll be happy if I can dip into the 11's.
I wouldn't get bent out of shape losing to a Honda if the Honda driver wasn't a dick to begin with, the ones I run into usually have the sideways hat, the bling and the attitude of most ricers that their cars are always faster. Perhaps it's because the ones I meet are barely out of puberty and can't help but act like complete retards but the ones I see at the track or local hang out thinks his car be the sheet and everything else is whack. Ok, my terminology might be off but what can I say.
I have met Mustang owners like this too, but generally those like that rice out their Mustang to the point it's a Mustang by name only.
The day I meet a respectful high horsepower Honda owner and he's that way from the get go I will give him the respect he deserves, no matter if I win or lose to him, unfortunately I have yet to meet this mythological person.

I have a friend with a turbo Civic sedan that wants to race me, he has a B18 with about 12lbs of boost. He claim he weighs in at under 2500lbs. I refuse to race him because there really isn't any point in contributing to his kill list. On top of having nearly as much horsepower as me and over 1000 less lbs, he want to race from a 40 roll.

The last guy that wanted to roll race (because of his FWD, it's impossible to launch so much brute force afterall) I called a pussy, if he can't race and needs an excuse he should sh*t can his POS and buy a car he can properly drive. I am so sick of the FWD crowd wanting everybody elese to make it easier for them, hey, go try launching a 510hp rear wheel drive car on skinny stock rubber, do I bit*h and moan or did I buy real tires but nope, they ask for an advantage...
If I lose because of tire spin I lose, thats life but race the way its meant to be, not how you think you'll win the race because you're too pussy to learn how to launch (not the person whos post I'm responding to). On the one hand they rule the world because they have 400fwhp but because of that 400fwhp they refuse to run from anything but a roll, grow up Nancy's.

WOW 11'S!! NO WAY!!! I can think of about 30 GTP's off the top of my head that run 11 or better L0L. My mildly modded GTP runs 12's
no it doesnt. at least not with the mods you listed.
I happen to moderate a wbody board and know exactly what it takes to get one to the 12s
we have 1 member in the 11s, and lemme tell u it takes an m90 upgrade among other things. our 12sec members running stock or ported/stock blowers used nitrous to get there. most run zzp cams and 3.2 or 3.4 pulleys i believe for low-mid 13s. a few of these guys have already replaced a tranny.
ill agree that a GTP is a cheap 13 second sleeper, but dont pretend its so cheap and easy to make a street beast out of one. you can get low 13s easy, but after that you start spending alot to gain a little

I raced a 4 door Buick Regal last year at the track and he was running 12's but he said it took a bit to get there, about 3k in total and a lot of that was used parts. I think it's pretty darn respectable considering it's a 4 door Buick, heck I know how happy I was getting into the 12's!
