That's right..its time to get rid of it.  As our nations economy weakens and heads towards recession we can no longer afford to take care of people that are too lazy to work.  Lets stop rewarding people who have 8 kids just to get a govt check.

Work for welfare programs would be worth looking into maybe. I don't know much about them and I'm sure there would be exceptions, but in principle I like the idea.

Working where i work i have not once seen food stamps used as i think it should.

If i was to lower myself to be on food stamps it would be because i actually NEEDED it. I would think they would be spending it on milk/meat/bread and stuff like that.

The ONLY thing i have ever seen the ghetto free money used on is energy drinks, gummy bears, candy bars, and shi* like htat....... I dont feel like we should be wasting money on that crap.

I say keep the food stamps running but be required to send in receipts that account for every purchase to see if they are being used like they should.

i don't even know if the ratio of legit use to **** with welfare is in its favor.  i haven't seen everyone that gets a check or anything like that, but it seems like another thing that was good back in the day but now its just being taken advantage of....again.

a lot of programs were implemented in different times where they made sense, but instead of scrapping the plan and starting over as it becomes obsolete, it just gets lined with more red tape because of the nature of our government.

i hate when people sell them to get real cash, and my cousin and his gf and 5 kids are on welfare it pisses me off. him the his gf and her oldest daughter are all capable of working full time jobs but are slackers and we get to pay for them

isn't there a point like maybe after the third or fourth child that people realize having kids gets expensive?  i dunno, but holy **** its one thing to be wealthy and live well with kids but if you have a minimum wage job and like 6 kids with another one on the way, what the ****.  maybe we need to be pushing for more birth control....but oh wait, skin to skin ftw right lol?

scrap welfare, WIC is much more effective. Your allowed only the essentials and ONLY the essentials. Baby formula, produce, milk, anything with iron in it etc. No junk cereals no ciggarettes, no alcohol just what you need to keep a family alive.

And yes, I have seen families that bust their asses to make ends meet use foodstamps as they should be used.
But not black people or mexicans, I hate them.
Im racist arent I?

I think there should be welfare, but it needs to be drastically overhauled (don't ask me how, I'm not an expert)

I know a guy who bought a brand new 2006 WRX STI (not sure on the year) while he was on welfare... talk about abusing the system

Well I think there should be no welfare for anyone.  Here is my logic.  The government exists only to protect our rights, NOT TO TAKE CARE OF US.  I know my stance is radical, but I believe that if we truly had a government that only protected our inaleniable rights, there would be much more wealth and prosperity in our great nation.  I believe that a free market coupled by a small, right protecting government is the best way to provide the greatest benefit for the most people.....much better than welfare

It actually looks like a credit card. It's was known as "EBT", or electronic benefit transfer. So basically the government hands out these cards to people and they use them as they please. When I first started working at my store 2 years ago, when I was a cashier, I saw these people come in all the time and you could buy pretty much anything with them that was edible basically. I can't say I remember whether it allowed alcohol/ciggs, but for some reason I think it did.

WIC seems to be far more realible simply because I've seen the little "form" or whatever that they bring with and it has a list of items they can buy. Easy as that.

This is what is used to look like but it has been updated recently...

where does it say that we don't have the right to have government aid during times of hardship?

I think the only people that should get it are the elderly or disabled.  If a person is able bodied, they should not qualify.
