seight311 -> Wisdom teeth pulling questions... Ok can I drink or not? (4/10/2008 8:07:32 AM)

Got them pulled yesterday at noon, there is a thing called Veisha at ISU this weekend, it's basically everyone running around drunk, and listening to concerts. Im supposed to drive up tomorrow afternoon and start drinking one I get up there, about 8-9 p.m. tomorrow.

I have heard from some people it's cool to go to the bar once you leave the dentists office, I have heard you can drink liquor but not beer, I heard do not drink at all, I have heard don't drink unless you have too [&:]...

I got all 4 removed, I have a bottle of vicodin, obviously im not going to take the vicodin when I drink I don't want to crap out my liver.

Any one that had good or bad luck with drinking when they had theres removed...?

The dentist never told me not to drink. I slept the first day and had a few beers on the second day. I never had a problem. I got all four pulled too.

Probably best to avoid drinking.. stick to hard drugs instead

HaV -> RE: Wisdom teeth pulling questions... Ok can I drink or not? (4/10/2008 9:25:25 AM)

It depends on if they gave you meds. If your not taking anything but IBP type stuff for pain, there is no harm in drinking beer or hard liqour.. its not any worse than drinking a mt.dew/drpepper, etc.. the only thing is it might burn a bit.

drink away unless you have dry sockets. I know people that drank two days after and they were fine. Another drank right after.... now that i don't suggest

seight311 -> RE: Wisdom teeth pulling questions... Ok can I drink or not? (4/10/2008 9:38:18 AM)

So every other post says go for it, then No!

Im not drinking until Friday, im going to delay it as much as possible. But it's a big event so, in a sense I pretty much have to get drunk.

My plan was to go, drink and if I developed a dry socket, stop drinking and live off the vicodin I have the rest of the weekend. But not take any vicodin the whole weekend, unless I got the dry socket.

Did they not give you any antibiotics?

seight311 -> RE: Wisdom teeth pulling questions... Ok can I drink or not? (4/10/2008 9:53:22 AM)

Novocane during the procedure, then a hydrocodone Rx

seight311 -> RE: Wisdom teeth pulling questions... Ok can I drink or not? (4/10/2008 10:05:23 AM)

So any difference between drinking beer and liquor. I was told by a friend not to drink beer because of the yeast... [>:]

But when i drink I dont sit there and swish it around in my mouth, bottle up to the lips and down the hatch.

You'd still get beer in and around your teeth. I don't have any answers for you man, but I am curious.

I have to get my 5th wisdom tooth pulled sometime, but the other 4 can stay. Will they be putting me out for that, or juts numbing my whole head?

67mustang302 -> RE: Wisdom teeth pulling questions... Ok can I drink or not? (4/10/2008 11:30:46 AM)

Drinking thins your blood, so you may bleed more. And some medications will stay in your system for a while, so drinking a day or 2 later could still cause a problem for you. Your choice, but remember that it's your liver, do you really want to take a chance? Keep in mind if it fails because you drank with meds in your system, you end up at the bottom of a transplant list.

Also drinking lowers your immune system, with open sores I would not drink. Go, have fun, but just dont drink. Sometimes laughing at all the drunks is just as fun!

No ****???

Well I guess it's plenty fair though.

And I know I would still get the alcohol somewhat in the area, but I meant like im not gargling and letting the liquor or beer sit there and soak... If that would make much of a difference [&o]

Just don't drink. When in doubt, there is no doubt.
