I personally wouldnt do it, but thats just me. Mostly for the reason that I wouldn't want to mix alcohol, especially excessive amounts, with the painkillers, inflammatory inhibitors, and antibiotics that your on. And also the facts as mentiond above, that you'll bleed more and have a greater chance of injurying yourself.
Man, my surgery wasnt too fun. Lets say I found out I'm very tolerant of antistesia(sp) and painkillers. Was awake the whole time. I told my surgeon afterwards and he thought I was lying till I discribed the shape of the tools they were using...
