if theyre from an S197 cobraa yes, all of the S197's have the exact same bodies and will have the same connection points. the only things that are different are the drivetrains, and aesthetics. same frame, body, etc...
The bars will fit but you will also need the GT500 brackets. The attachment points are the same but the brackets and associated hardware are different because of the different size sway bars. You want the GT500 sways why? The V8 GT sways on a V6 pony pack would be just right. The GT500 sways would be way too stiff and maybe start causing opposite side tire lifting IMHO. [;)]
hmm... well when i put it on i felt a huge difference.. (did a test drive with the GT front before putting the rear on)... maybe its thicker metal?...
They are hollow and the diameter tells you little about the compliance of the bar. Now cut them in half and compare the wall thicknesses then its apples to oranges.
We have a magnetic thickness guage at work and the GT is thicker than the V6. Cant tell by how much as the resolution on the guage is very coarse. But its thicker. No need to go cutting sway bars up. I cut the OEM rear panhard bar and found it to be .100 wall and full of lead shot for weight. [&:] Turned it into a K-Member brace Ford left off my Stang.
