Ok I watched the video...not exactly happy with my decision, but eh. I can't believe these people. The father was the one taping it this whole time? That's insanity. What are they arguing about n-e-ways? I don't want to turn the volume up at work.

G, the thing is it isn't necessarily something you are consciously thinking, like "Hm don't escalate this, maybe they'll let me go." I think maybe the unreal nature of it and still having the thought of "Wait these are people from my school, this can't be happening" might be enough until they really wack you hard enough, and by then, it might be too late.
Not planning on watching it; I don't have the stomach for that stuff, and just feel terrible for the poor girl. Wouldn't watch it if it was a guy either, but girls for some reason just seem worse.
How about this, Red... sterilize the parents, and then beat the parents into unconsciousness while forcing their kids to watch. Then wake them and beat the KIDS into unconsciousness while the PARENTS watch. Then let them go. Would that work?

Commercials these days are a perfect example. My kids don't text hardly at all. Why? Cos they either have to pay for their overages or go get their own cell phone plan. Plus I check the phone bill every month. Texting during school hours is grounds for phone confiscation. Its amazing how kids don't want to do something when it comes out of THEIR pocket or they have to take responsibility for it.
Wow, so glad you aren't my dad. Why wouldn't your kids just add texting to the plan, I think it is like $10 a month for unlimited for most carriers. And why are you a Nazi about texting during school hours? If they can keep their grades up and not send noodars of themselves there really isn't a problem...
@ EBBS: Yea +1. My parental units didin't care, if I failed, my ass got pwned. Kinda glad it did though, now that I look at the world. 
@ Ash: I'm not gonna watch it, I don't like beat downs too much. Anyone notice the picture of the first guy? He is like the honkey version of Pedro!

I agree that most parents are way too hands off, but to all of you that are saying that its all the parents fault, i disagree. All teenagers are going to do stuff that their parents would $#88 if they ever found out about. I think thats all part of finding out about who you are, but these girls really need a few good swift kicks in the head, but I dont think their parents do.
