I have two girls, 11 and 4 and when I watched that video I couldn't help but think, 'what if?'. Afraid I'd have to get some serious equals if that was my baby taking that beat down.

Not trying to sound like a smartass, but anyone with common sense woulda tweaked the odds to their favor by arming themself. Then proceeding to use whatever amount of force necessary to defend themself and gtfo of the trap.

That's like saying why didn't the Jews fight back against the German guards at the death camps - I mean they were going to die anyway. People just don't - I think it's in the why we are wired/not wanting to upset the herd or something.

Not only did she get beat up by all those girls, loose sight in an eye, hearing in an ear, but there were 2 GUYS standing guard outside the front door so noone could get in or out.
honestly, this makes me more mad than anything else.
the girls are horrible for doing what they did to that other girl. But the fact that there were 2 teenage guys outside not only letting this happen but keeping her in there, makes me want to beat the **** out of them. How the **** could they do that. THEY need to get sent to ****ing jail also. worthless pussies
I almost got the feeling from the story, tho I don't know why, that maybe she somehow understood or thought that seriously fighting back would make it much, much worse for her. That, however, might be totally off base, you would think getting knocked out would mean you would think it was as bad as it can be.

It was probably better for her that she didnt. If she grabbed some thing as a weapon then it would probably be taken & used against her. I think she may have been beaten even worse. This was pre-meditated kidnapping & assualt, she didnt have a chance.

Yeah but for the majority of the fight/beating, the aggressors were practically taking turns. All it would take is a nice smack to the head with a blunt object, and see how fast the rest of em let you go. Smarter move would be taking the camera too. So if they try to blame you all you have to do is show the tape and say "It was X against one, obviously an uneven fight. All i did was even the odds. Then i escaped."
Now, if you had the opportunity to leave, but stayed behind to brutally punish everyone, then ya might have a harder time in court. Which brings us to another lesson in self defense. "Dead people cant file lawsuits."

I dont care what the situation was in that house. The minute you sit there and take the beatings, your odds of winning/surviving drop to 0. Start fighting back and you'll better your chances.
Never, EVER, go down without a fight. Cause if they plan on killing you anyway, take as many of them as you can with you.

sounds good to me. All the people I've ever met who were/are trash have trash for parents without exception. Sometimes the kids turn out good despite trash for parents, but I've never seen a crappy kid without crappy parents.

There was an awesome special on the Today Show on this. Basically the mother of one of the girls, who is complete trailer trash, tries to defend her daughter by saying the victim shouldn't have "run her mouth" (used those EXACT words) on myspace, and that the victim is just as guilty as everyone else.
Basically girl talks trash, and these cheerleaders get pissed so they decide maiming her is the best punishment. The mother says her daughter did none of the beating, none of the video, and tried to convince the victim to not enter the house..basically trying to make her daughter appear not guilty. Matt Louer questioned "So, how many times did your daughter call the police?" Hilarious, lol
I love how the fatty is the one beating her up. I didn't watch it online, only saw the Today Show special online.

When the girls were brought to prison, none of them had any remorse and we joking about it with each other. One of them even asked if she was going to be able to make it to cheerleading practice that afternoon. Therefore, I say try and convict them like adults

I believe that's called escalation. For example, you pull a knife which prompts me to pull a gun, which prompts your buddy to pull his gun, etc etc.
It's always easy to say that you WOULD do something, but until you are in that same situation you have no right to judge or talk. This girl has probably never been in a fight before in her life, and to get jumped by a large group of people that had planned the attack would be a nightmare for her.

I like fight videos, but thats just bad. I always say never hit a girl but watching that video I wouldn't mind walking in and smashing some heads. 6 Vs. 1 ? Wtf is that.
I just think it's easy to say you'd fight back while on the Internet, but there's a reason it VERY rarely happens in these situations in real life.
Have you ever seen those videos from the wars in the Balkins where they just march perfectly strong and capable men into some field, tell them to kneel and then walk down the line shooting them in the head and nobody tries to fight back? I'm talking about trained soldiers that just take it.
In spite of what you're saying here, probability strongly suggests you would have done the exact same thing this girl did.
