Red, I do tend to agree, this starts at home. And yeah... kids are idiots. But man, they weren't THAT young, and there comes a time when you gotta take responsibility for your own actions.
Plus, if that had happened to my daughter, I wouldn't care WHO I killed. I could do the parents too, I doubt it would matter to me at that point.

No, it's not hard to blame the parents. Parents are RESPONSIBLE for raising their kids until they are out the door. PERIOD. Just because little johnny is 14 or Jill is 15 doesn't mean parents suddenly have no say in what their kids do or have no control over anything. It's not about being their "buddy or friend"
Commercials these days are a perfect example. Look at the one that where the daughter is texting like crazy and the mom is all like "OMG you should't be texting so much" oh well I'll just get you a plan where you can do whatever you want. Wow mom, what a way to show your daughter 1) Who's boss and 2) Learn self control.
My kids don't text hardly at all. Why? Cos they either have to pay for their overages or go get their own cell phone plan. Plus I check the phone bill every month. Texting during school hours is grounds for phone confiscation. Its amazing how kids don't want to do something when it comes out of THEIR pocket or they have to take responsibility for it.

i disagree...it is 100% the perpetrators' fault. i dont care what anyone says but we as a society have to stop trying to make excuses for this kind of behavior. i dont care what sally mae watched on youtube the night before, she needs to be held responsible for her actions.
Well, some folks would say 18 is the limit; after all, then you are an adult.
But I do think there are times when kids just do **** wrong; not everything is directly able to be linked to parents, although a lot of it obviously is.

if 17 year olds are kidnapping and beating people up in their parent's living room, the parents are clearly worthless. somehow I don't think these kids were out on their own. if you're not an adult and on your own, your parents are responsible for your actions.
actually, I think these girls should be drowned in a large bucket and their genetic material should be removed from the gene pool, along with their parents. at the minimum, jail time + sterilization. under no circumstances should these idiots be allowed to reproduce.
or maybe send them to canada.

Keep your kids locked up all the time?

Red I agree with most of what you say, but not the end result... sure the parents raise them, but in the end, you've gotta take responsibility for yourself. The parents are probably worthless trash, that much is certain, but when you take all the idiot hormones of teenagerness and mix them with todays world of violence and mass media and the devalue of life and respect and all that, and the glamourization of "thug life," I think there are just enough influences to not hold the parents totally and absolutely responsible.
Still, a leg breaking would be fine with me.

Oh my god, this is horrible. That poor girl. She's going to be so messed up from this; damn shame. I can't believe someone can just watch something like this happen, and have the balls to even video tape it to show it off. Some people are just plain sick.
Youtube.com and Break.com are not to blame for anything. If anything, we should be happy people are dumb enough to post this crap! This way the family, friends, and law all can see that they definitely made a video and know who was in the room at the time. It's not YouTube or Break.com's fault people break the law and feel the need to brag about it. Those that **** up will get caught. Now it is very public knowledge that these girls deserve all the punishment they get, and deserve to have no decent future.
Anyone know what started it all? All I could hear was like myspace comments this and that. If that's what it was all about, it's just unbelievable how far some people take things. If someone doesn't like you it doesn't mean you go beat them up and ruin the hearing and vision. Parenting, but mainly society, today is to be blamed for a lot of things. Society has made it so that parents cannot give children the proper punishments without being cruel. When I was younger, and I messed up, I was hit. I think there is a difference between stern punishment and child abuse, and people need to stop being pussies and trying to blur the line. Kid steps out of line and talks back, you should be able to yell at them (and if needed, spank them), and not have to worry if child services will be showing up at your door, because your pussy neighbor heard what was going on.
