2009 Pontiac GXP LS3 6.2L V8 402hp running 12.9 second 1/4 miles times. Price range $32,300 - $36,200
These are Charger R/T and SRT / Challanger Killers
2010 Camaro will use one or both of these engines will weight less than 4000 lbs most likely 3600 pounds. if the Camaro runs a L76 it will be a high 12 sec car if it runs a LS3 it will be a mid 12 sec car..
What is going to happen to the Mustang? heck when Family sedans are running more HP and faster times for the same price ? Ford needs to step up and Give us some more HP I REFUSE to buy a 09 -10 Mustang with a measly 325 hp 4.6L.
I sure hope we get the 5.4 3 or 4 Valve engine with close to 400 hp.

Here we go: A Mustang GT Deluxe runs $26,640 (Base Mustang) A Mustang has proven to go as fast as 4.9-5.1 0-60mph and close to the same (perhaps even faster?) in the quarter mile with 100 hp less than the G8 GT
...At $29,995 (From Pontiacs website) you get a base G8 GT. The cheapest option they offer is an interior upgrade package for $1,400.00. Leather + power driver and passenger. What's that cost on the stang? Oh, only $495.
For that difference of $3,335 (in the base price alone) I could do a ton to Mustang to kill the G8 or simply pocket the difference. Start adding options and the price difference is bigger for the same stuff.
I have no clue where you're getting 32-36K for GXP, it's slated to be "Just under $40K".
Camaro, different story and I don't have the time to look up info on it.

Believe me, its going to way closer to 4000 lbs then 3600 lbs. It will cost more then Mustang. Plus, that front end looks god awful. Looks like Mr. Grinch smiling.

Sure is a lot of speculation at this point, dontcha think? And 3600 lbs for the Camaro? That my friend is some wishful thinking. There's really nothing (so far) to indicate that the Camaro will weight any less than the G-8. Those 2 extra doors don't make much of a difference. Just look at the Charger/Challenger. Both of those cars weight just about the same. And both share the same platform and drive train.
yeah the new Camaro looks terrible. The Challenger looks good but weights close to 4200lbs and thats from Car and Driver. so the Camaro is bound to weight close to that. i see them having a V6 3.5 mustang base making 265hp, the eccoboost 3.5 V6 making about 340hp, and then either a 5.0 comeback with like close to 400hp or i could see the 4.6 getting 4 valves in the 2010 model year.

Easy to get discouraged if your a diehard blue blood. But look at it this way:
GM axes the F-bods. Ford brings in the Terminator and Mach 1 one year later. Ford then brings out the S197s a year after that. Ford brings out a 500hp GT500 one year after that. GM finally decides to step it up and bring the Camaro back with avengeance.
As has been the case ever since the pony car wars started.......Ford fires the first shot. GM fires a more lethal return shot. Ford makes its return volley. And so on and so on. A competant competitor.......is a GOOD thing.
If even 1/4 of the stuff going around the net right now can be believed, Ford has got some pretty interesting stuff coming to the table with its next generation lineup of motors. Don't count the old stallion out of the race just yet. ;)
