ok turbo advice again
ok looking at the boost i will be pushing vs total output puts me in a prediciment. i was looking at the garrett t3 form the 85-86 TC and it can push up to 23psi, but the other turbos from the TC "IHI" can psi 16-18psi, with only pushing 8-12 psi am i going to need the T3?

The problem with the ihi is going to be in the volume it can produce & the amount of restriction it's going to cause for your exhaust gasses.
I'm not 100% sure on this, but I don't know that the wastegate port is big enough to vent all the exhaust gasses out. It may cause you to spin the turbo faster than you want on high end which could cause higher boost psi than you want & could damage the turbo from spinning too fast. Not sure if you've seen the integral ports on them or not, but they're incredibly small.
So it's not just a matter of the exhaust being too small, the compressor is going to have a hard time moving the volume of air to feed the engine. Not saying it can't, just saying it's not going to be able to do it efficiently.
You're better off going with either the .48 t3 or .63 t3 if you're going junkyard route. I bought the .63's because I favor high end hp rather than low end boost. If I wanted low end I probably would have went with a roots s/c. + the .63's are still big enough to work with a 351w if i swap my 5.0 into my other car down the road & want to keep the tt on the '89 GT
