it looks like a good enclosure but i would defintly get a top. also keep it dark for a while, so get rid of the lamp. you dont need it anyway, you have a undertank heater and that will be sufficient. also if your having a problem regulating the humidity you can put a towel over half the tank, its a quick and effective solution.

I asked about a top, and the guy said this kind of Lizard can't climb so it is not Necissary. I made sure he couldn't reach the top from any of the high spots(ofcourse he already tried the closest). I put a peice of wood as a temperary block in the corner where he get semi close, but I doubt it will be needed. I will still probably get one when I get paid in a week just incase, and to keep crickets from jumping out.

A wet towel or just a normal towel? It is a semi dry environtment around here so I doubt he is used to high humidty anyways.

Where in the reptile forum should I post up pics too make sure it really is an alligator Lizard?

I had the light on primarily because the bedding is still alittle wet. (It was a condised brick thing) I was hoping the light would help it dry and I am sure the bottom heater hasnt warmed up the wetground yet.

And the reason I put him in with a wetground is what he WAS is was pretty bad.

a dry towel is fine, but since you dont have much humity where you live i dought it will be neccesarry. yes you should definantly post up the pics because personnally i have never heard of an alligator lizard. the people on that forums have years of experience and a lot of them are breeders or herpatoligists. Dont forget, reptiles are escape artist! i cant even being to tell you how many times my python and boas have escaped just so that they can scare the **** out of your parents in the middle of the night when going to the bathroom...... good times.

all my chops get loaded into photobucket to post here, so in a sense, they are all saved.

I think the lizard should be named errdick

A great site where I learned alot about lizards back when I had a Bearded Dragon.

Also, I'm not sure a heating pad is wise because if it's anything like the Dragon, I don't think it can sense heat on it's underside, which is why heat lamps are highly recommended and heating pads/ heat rocks are not. I could be wrong though.

Also make sure no sand! Repticarpet and Wheat Bran are very good substrates (ground) to use!

Damn now I want a lizard again!!!
