Switched rims with my brother-in-law. I had the stock GT rims and he had the cobra-r's. Now with the cobra-r's my car looks great but 65 and above I'm getting some very bad vibrations. Took the rims to get balanced and there was little change. Is there an inner ring that I need for them to fit properly? Anybody know what I need?

a spacer might help a little, but ive never used them. check the tread on the tire make sure they are not chopped or have flat spots. also there is a balance called "road force" not sure if you had heard of it. it measures the imbalance of the rim and tire. where tire comes together when made and the rim. i deal with them everyday.ask around your local shops one of them should have a balancer to do it. hope this helps.

You may also check to confirm you have proper lug nuts installed for the new wheels. If the wheel "fits" onto your axle (as it obviously does), this may be the issue as well as posible wheel bearing problem. Have your buddy drive around all sides of you on freeway, and visually see how they look at 65 MPH. If wheel is out of balance to a degree you can feel vibration, he will most likely see the wheel "hopping" off the ground or shaking.

Look into if there are hubcentric rings for your specific wheels and car combination.

Thanks guys, the guy that balanced them said that he thought it could be the hubcentric rings.
