blah... enjoyed em for a week or so.. after that, the sub started rattling. don't know what it could be. I'm 100% sure it's the sub, it's not the box, trunk, or anything. I even took it out the box, and it's the sub. Sucks.. I'm probably going to return it..

What could the possiblities be? The sub itself still hits hard and seems like it's functioning fine, but there's a rattle! Whenever I push the cone down it squeeks.. (only if I push the sides and not center). Could there be a possible easy fix? It's a b**** to return back to eD. They don't give exchanges, NOR refunds (AND it's possible that I will be charged a rebuild fee - if they somehow find it's not a manufacture defect, and shipping back to Cali) - yeah that's gonna be equal or more than I paid for the sub... I've only had this sub for 2 weeks or so. It only played for a week.. not even cranked. If I brought it into a car audio shop, could there be a possible easy fix? I need some advice here..

They will do an exchange and cover the shipping both ways if it is a manufacturing defect.

If you know you weren't abusing the driver you should have nothing to worry about.

Did you smell anything funny when you were working them good? I don't think I have ever popped a driver and haven't been able to smell it.

Back on sale!!  WOO WOO!!  I'm getting two on WEDNESDAY.  Going ported.  Can't wait.

Guys, will i benefit any by having the ports fire directly into the cabin (ports in the back seat)?

Clicking noise is generally spider probs. Alot of those Power Acoustiks I popped the spider completly separated from the basket...

... It rattled a tad.

No burning smell. Sucks if they don't cover the spider. How could that have happened? I'm pretty sure it was never pushed even close to its limits. Any other possibilites..?

they do cover defects in the spider but most likely urs was pulled apart at some time which leads me to believe abuse in some way be it clipped signal/overpowerd/etc. But hey send it in and if they refuse to replace then atleast ull be done with the wondering.

Haha, yeah and I'll also be out $100 + shipping back to them, then back to me, and also half the price of the original for the rebuild.

They will be able to tell, if it separated from the assembly because the wasn't enough adhesive or something then its a defect.

If it's because of something you did it just means you were reaching the mechanical limits, if you smelled something that means you were reaching thermal limits.

Generally what happens is if you reach mechanical limits, the spider breaks, rips, tears, separates etc. and then your coil will end up hitting part of your motor assembly and then you run into basically a thermal issue. And you get that nice burning scent throughout the car.
