Alright, i've got a white v6 convertible and i'd love to have 2 black racing stripes running down the middle (like you see a lot). Of course i dont want to spend the big bucks going to a professional to get the job done. I was thinking of doing it myself. I dont know if this would work but heres my thought:
1) buy automotive spray primer and paint 2) Tape of the hood of my car and other relevant spots 3) spray primer over the taped part i want and then spray a couple coats of paint
Would this work? The spray can stuff says professional grade for automobiles, but i dont know. Also, Would the spray paint blead beneath the tape. IF it did that would not look nice at all and i would be in big trouble. The primer seems a little thicker so i'm hoping if i tape it good, it wont get underneath.
so Give me some suggestions, and if i do it, i'll post some pics either way

more than likely, its not going to turn out very well. its going to be noticable that you painted them with rattle cans. you will probably get through with it and stand back and kick yourself in the butt for doing it. my opinion is dont do it, but its your car.

It probably won't spray even with a can, and you will be able to see each stroke when you get it in light.
