New Wheels and Tires

Just bought the 17x9 AFS silver bullitt and Vredstein tire (275/40/17) combo. So far so good. I got a killer deal, the wheels look great on thecar, and I'm very happy with the tires so far. My only dissappointment is that the offset on the wheels puts them a little further outside than I would like. It looks ok out back, but up front the tires just seem to be too far to the outside. Wondering if my planned drop of about 1.25" will help any but I'm doubtful. In the defense of AFS, I don't think the tire to sway bar clearence would allow an offset to the inside much more? More to come as the tires wear in......

RE: New Wheels and Tires

Dropping the car will usually exagerate the look you already have, but you need to check it out. See if you can get a buddy to open hood and putweight down on shock tower (don't push down on fender) and see what it will look like. I am curious about your off-set as I run 9"s on my car and also HATE tires outside the fender. Seems to me mine may be out a little, but must not be too much or I would hate my OWN wheels (and I don't:))

I don't recall the off-set of my wheels off-hand, but 24 mm comes to mind (about 1" positive) It can be surprising how much, or rather how little, clearance is needed to run tires. Once I temporarily installed my 285/30/18"s up front and drove aroundthe parking lot. I had no rubbing on either extreme of turns, but did not go over 1 MPH and hit no bumps. The rear tire was over 1" wider and 1/2" deeperoff-set (closer to sway bar and such)

Take some pics, I am curious.
