Default 03 gt bass questions

i have an 03 mustang gt. just baught it a few days ago. i'm assuming it has the standard mach audio system in it. i replaced the stock radio with a kenwood KDC-MP435U. now i dont know much about cars. hell, i don't know much about car audio in general. there were three connectors coming out of the radio. on bigger rectangular one and 2 smaller square ones. the wiring harness i got for it had one connector. so i hooked everything up and from the radio, there's a wire for an amp. but there was nothing for it on the wiring harness from the car.

after i set it up, the speakers sound like crap. they work, but i have no bass at all. none. and it sounds horrible.

what i was wondering, is that the two sets of wires that didnt have a harness for is maybe an amp wire. anyone have any experience with the 03's and the amp?
