My Son owns A 2006 Mustang GT it came with 18"X8.5" wheels and he is getting ready to buy new wheels!! He wants to go with 18"X10" in the back and 18"X8.5" in the front what would the required backspacing and tire size be. He wants to go with 40 or 45's in the back and 50 or 55's in the front. Whatever wheels he buys they are going to be wrapped in Nitto 420's or Nitto 555's

Yup, times have changed thats for sure.
Once you find out what he wants, make another post before you order just to make sure.  Better to be safe than sorry

The rims we want to go with are enkei LS-5's for the Front 18"X8" 35mm O/S With 245/45ZR 18 Goodyear Eagle F1 Tires. On the Rear 18"x9"  42mm O/S with 285/40ZR 18's Goodyear Eagle F1 tires. I am Thinking that this would give the car a good stance without having huge tires rubbing and sticking out!! The car will be getting a suspension upgrade that will be dropping the front 1 1/2" and 2" in the rear!! Thank You for the advice I am hoping these wheels and tires will fit!! checking fitment right now to be sure!!

I would recommend 255/45/18 for the front. That will give you near OE diamter.  that 285/40 min width recommended is 9.5"  It will fit, but again, its not a recommended size wheel.
