Default Project Smoking Stang

ALright, My Turnn EVeryone got there own post, heres Mine.

Three Questions to start this post

One: Sleeper, That Plumbing Picture you posted me, You Still Got It??

Two: Is the Turbo 2.3 Trans Stronger than the N/A Trans?

Three: are all T-5's Borg Warner?

Any Pointers? Starting my Swap This Next Tuesday I'll Defiantly Be on more Often during the Swap

I'm not sure about the automatics, but I know the turboT-5s are stronger (good luck getting your hands on one of those)

1. What plumbing? water and oil?

2. No, its the clutch, in fact many swap over to the WC T5 because it has better bearings

3. No, 84-86 TC are BW, 87-88 are WC, and 87-93 mustangs are WC

Tips:
Have lots of extra money and have another DD

i don't think the difference in strength of a turbo 4 transmission (and looking at the chart, the early tbird T5 is a downgrade) compared to the NA is worth the cost of seeking one, but since you already have it cool, nothing like getting good deals on parts. depending on what ID number you come up with on the transmission, the swap might be completely pointless unless the new transmission is less ragged out than yours. also you have to make sure to have the right speedometer gear for your rear end gearing if your rear end gear ratio was different than the donor car's (well...that's if you want a correct speedometer)

btw as far as i know about "world class" T5's, no 4 bangers got any form of one. only the V8's got them and it started in 85 http://www.moderndriveline.com/Techn...t5_history.htm
as that link says tremec bought the rights to the T5 in 1998 so up until that point all T5's were borg warner i think

World class was used. All the 2.3 mustangs got it. Same with the 87 and later thunder bird turbo coupes. World Class is still a T5, just a different bearings. So they still went by T5

I was just running into issues with the turbo. It blew so my fuel mileage dumped and I also killed my exhaust manifold (3 big cracks...)[&:]

I blew my turbo because it was unbalanced and it starved for oil
