I'm sorry...even I wasn't to fond of it when I first laid eyes on it at the dealership and I love the ROUSH. I understand the reasoning and concept/purpose behind having it on a trac pac vehicle but it gives it the look of something that would have chop sticks sticking out of the fuel tank especially when you know alot of people won't actually have it on a track that they'll just be driving it around town.
OK people. It's designed for the TRACK. Hence the wing. Then again, what would Jack Roush know about racing?
Yea designed for the track not the street. It doesn't appear to be sitting in the pits at some race track? It's looks stupid. +1 on the chopstick statement. I can hear the owner now rhy rar ru ruys ripping on ry rwing??

In what way is it designed for the track? I see full set of lights, street tires, air bag, horn, cup holder, no harness, no roll bar. It is 100% street legal, but probably wouldn't pass tech for most race organizations, so I have to conclude that it's a STREET car... with a goofy wing.

ORIGINAL: Kara The car is a track car but honestly the spoiler is a bit much. Come on it isnt going to effect it THAT much. For the car it is, a roush spoiler would do fine!

ORIGINAL: marcuskeeler Trak pak or not, the S197 is an aerodynamic brick and that spoiler won't do diddly on a road course.
Seriously? Aparently neither of you have stuck your hand out the window at 60mph & tilted it? I'd guess you haven't done it at 150mph either?
I'd love for either one of you to take a piece of scrap metal or plastic in that shape & try to tilt it like that toward the ground, even at 50mph... I guarantee it'll rip your arm out of socket if you keep hold of it
That spoiler is an option if you don't understand aerodynamics or if the effects it has are stupid in comparison to looks it's simple you don't have to get one. As for comparing it to that corvette, the corvette does have a lip that helps with downforce. It helps to have it up higher due to that being a low pressure area on the vette it's not nearly as much of a low pressure area due to the roof line. Having it up that little bit higher makes the effects greater. You need to think though the corvette was built for performance, the mustang... wasn't. It was built to sell & be sporty. The spoiler most definitely does work.

i don't get what the big deal is. you fukcers think it should not be there because you think it's ugly. It's not your damn car so why be such bitches about it. As soon as it sells the owner can do what ever the hell they want to it and don't see why you should care. The future owner might take the wing off or put an even bigger one. worry about your own car, after all, that's what you bought it for. /thread

What is wrong with you people? You don't bash something 95% of us will never have nor understand the engineering behind. God knows that I don't understand the engineering and that I am not a professional driver. I realize we all have our preferences for appearance, but a car that is designed for a road race track, specifically not the street and not a drag strip, *needs* downforce on the ass end. If you take a look at the Steeda race wing it is nearly identical in height and gawdiness. The idea is not to be pretty but just work, and if you can't appreciate that, I suggest moving on because maybe you all forgot the giant wing on the Cobra Rs? Ford came to the same conclusions.
Roush wants the Trak Pak car to be driven on a track, not shown. Showing it would be the silliest waste of money I could imagine. Roush is a racing company in case you people forgot. They sell carbon fiber fenders and hood for our cars. That's serious **** when our cars weigh as much as they do and are as front-heavy as they are. That's not something you put on a show car. You put that **** on your Mustang and take it to a track and beat the living hell out of that ****ing car because that's what it was meant for. That's what I plan on doing to my car. It's a beautiful car and I almost can't bring myself to the idea of tracking it and possibly destroying it, but in the long run I have a passion that I can't ignore to drive the living hell out of my car and make it do what I want it to do.
Anyway, I'm getting out of my soapbox now because I am not trying to start **** with only 8 posts so far, but the overall attitude of a lot of the **** I've read throughout this site is really disheartening.
