Default Waking the BEAST...

Well I am not making Irwindale tonight as my car seemed to break Adam's dyno this morning...[sm=headbang.gif] (blew the dyno 02 sensors and fried some other crap before the first pull)

But I will be out next week - in fact, the car will be getting driven some much needed break-in miles this weekend. I started the thread with a couple pics adam posted in his whipple thread but I'll be getting more in the thread as I get them as the car is running and completed assembly wise. Just needs to be tuned. Adam has re-named my car to 'the beast' and said it's pretty insane. When the dyno took a dump, adam had only tapped the pedal about an inch and said the car jumped to 12 psi and awoke like a sleeping dragon...lol

Dyno's and install pics will be coming shortly in this thread and I'm excited to see what the 'beast' is all about. Some things to note was the need to find 'short #60's' which I didn't know existed but apparently do as the intake manifold made the standard size injectors not fit.

A plus in the build Adam figured out a way to cut out all of the 02 sensors (even the upstream) which I think is pretty cool as C16 tends to fry mine every couple months. I wasn't even aware there was a way to get rid of all the sensors but apparently Adam (aka Dr. Frankenstein) has found a way so I'm excited about that. He said the only downside is the MPG might suffer some but I'm not really concerned about that anyway or I would just drive my Smart...

All in all this has been a PIA for me and the shop and I really didn't want to be a test mule again and thought I would just copy the set-up already done on Sawyer's and Ken's cars but those of you that know Adam, know that he is always looking for the 'next best thing' so it turns out some interesting new stuff like his custom lower manifold, intake manifold, meter, and some other stuff got developed on my car so I get to reap the benefits of the new stuff but also get the consequences of being the 'first' with time and complications. All in all, I said I didn't want to be a test mule anymore but I also said numerous times that I didn't want/need any more power and we all know how that turned out...

Whipple has invested a lot in my car and I would like to publicly say 'thank you' to Whipple for giving me ridiculous deals on supplies and parts to aid me in my build of the super TS. I'm sure they are as excited as I am to see what this Whippled 4.6 is going to do!

Pics and vids to come...

Well, in all fairness, I don't think it was my car that 'broke' the dyno - especially considering he had only pushed the pedal about an inch. It was just a bad luck timing of the 02 sensors and some electrical blowing out while my car was on there. But it does seem 'cooler' to think my car broke it...lol[8D]
