Default shaker 500, in line converter help

want to add power acoustic lt980-2 amp with 2 12" kenwood subs to 07 gt with shaker 500.
i purchased a scosche in line converter and want to tap into rear speakers in trunk. i have no money for new head unit and already had amp and subs in last mustang with a alpine hu. has anyone used this scosche fai-3a converter and spliced into the rear speakers with good results? if so can you help me with some directions/tips.

Default RE: shaker 500, in line converter help

You can do that but it will change the impedance. It will be 4 ohms if you tap because you would have a parellel set up. I have done it several times and it should sound fine. Won't hit as hard as 2 ohm though. you only need to tap 1 channell though because you want to run mono to the 2 subs.
