Hey friends,

You cannot imagine how excited I am, I am finally getting my Mustang back tonight! She has been away for 6 weeks for a complete engine rebuilt and a T5 conversion :)

Quick feedback from the mechanic over the phone: "she is fast, you are going to love it"!

Feels like christmas, yeeeeehee :)

Just be sure to break it in a few hundred miles before you start thrashing it. Wouldn't want to send it back next week after some vigorous driving before it's ready causes some problems

+1 on the break-in procedure. Be patient and follow your mechanic's suggestions.

And may you have it and enjoy it forever.

I *almost* know the feeling. My car is almost running again. She won't be as fast as your ride, but faster none the less.  I can't wait to get her back either. Post some pics up when you get them! I'll take some too when my "annebelle" makes it home.

I just finished my T5 a few weeks ago and have been driving the car on a somewhat consistent basis...  It is takin all my strength not to hammer it and let those tires fry

I am back and really happy

It feels like a complete different car, the engine is smoother and seems to be more powerful. Plus of course changing gears is the real thing! I was careful with it and did not try a brutal acceleration (it does not mean I did not accelerate though).

And also note that even without changing the rear end ratio (still 2.79 I guess), the car seems way lighter and throttle response is better!

I actually got it back from the shop in Oakland, drove it through the Bay Bridge and instead of coming home, drove the Marin headlands, the amazing tunnel and the Golden Gate. Surprisely I was pretty much always shifting 3->4 and 4->3 and rarely using 2.

Oh boy, I want to do it again

P.S : just one problem : the stick is absolutely ugly (I need to change it really soon )

Ok it's not that ugly.  You're not mad are you?  You was the one that said it was ugly.
