I'm guessing because of the Transformers movie.
Don't know about legality. I heard someone duplicated Barricade, the Decepticon Saleen Mustang Cop car in the movie, lights and all. He was told it was legal so long as he doesn't pose as an officer.

there is a car similar to mickeys but it has police on the side and fake lights on top to replicate the movie car... its somewhere in nevada i think... but they said its not illegal as long as they arent pullin people over and stuff. i have a pic on my laptop... i'll post when i get home
