Default Production # Decal Question

Just got my 05 S281 back from the dealer after fixing a couple paint flaws on both front and rear bumpers. Bad news it will need to go back because they didn't get the rear bumper right, but thats another story and going to wait for winter time now - sick of being without my car!

My question is regarding the ID number on the bumper - they failed to put it back on, and when they went to stick in on with me there they were nowhere close to where it should have gone, so I told them to give me the decals and I would do it myself!!! I know where it goes basically, but my two questions are this:

Should this decal be under the clearcoat?? I thought it was but they claim not.

And, is there an EXACT measurement spec on where it goes or is it just a general approximation?? It looks to me that it goes about 1" behind the lip of the front bumper and centered with the headlight. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Mike - just now noticed your signature. Could you post a pic or two of your 85?? That is one of my favorite years! Or email if you'd prefer to sowaxeman@insightbb.com

Just curious if its all original, low miles or if you've driven it a ton and done anything to it?

Thats nice! If I can come up with a scanner, I'll post some pics in the near future of a couple 85 & 86's I snapped at the World Of Wheels a few years ago here in Indy. In my opinion, the interior (particularly the seats) from the 85 & 86 GT is one of the best ever!

Thanks!

You will most likely see the same cars at the Saleen Club of America National Show this August in Indiana.

Are you still in the Indy area?

There is also the "Brown County" Show in the area coming up as well. Another great opportunity to show off your car

Yep, I am still in Indy - I just downloaded the pdf so I can join ASAP.

Do you have any details on the Brown County show? That is an AWESOME country road drive of about 45 minutes from my house!

Thanks

Well, guess I could surf before I ask! I have the details on Brown County now. Will you be at that one - I thought you were way out West somewhere.

Glad you found the info. If you need more, or have any questions, please email the Club.

I will not be in attendance, but I know of several SCOA members and Regional Directors that will be at that show. Should be a great time!

I am currently on the east coast. I do make it to a fair amount of the events across the country.

I will be at the SCOA National Show (in Indiana) in August
