Chip? IAT? You didn't get one of those chips (usually nothing more than a resistor) that suppsoedly increase your HP or mileage did you?

It's a scam. I hope you didn't pay much because you basically got sold about 20 cents worth of resistors from Radio Shack. I fell for this scam too a long time ago.

I'm relatively new to the mustang and this forum, so I don't know what the general consensus here is about these "chips." But in other forums that I've been on, many agreethat these don't work at all. The HP gains are grossly exaggerated if not totally untrue. The gist of what I gatherd is that it may actually do your engine more harm by forcing it to run rich without making proper adjustments to other components, such as the O2 sensors. And because the O2 sensors detect the rich, it may force the computer to adjust to running like it did before you even stuck the chip on. And if it's unable to make the adjustment, it'll most likely trigger the CEL.

Did a quick search on this forum, and fond a few discussions. Here's one: http://www.mustangforums.com/m_890603/tm.htm

Now all you need is a Vortex/Twister to
complete the CAI/Tune mod you got going there.
JK LOL IMHO etc
Ask the Forum before you buy if in doubt.
