I know this is a vintage Mustang forum, but I just am curious where you guys and gals are from. I may want to oraganize a get-together in a year or two, and I think it would be great for us to meet face to face and have a brew while talking about our vintage Mustangs. I am from west Texas, but am currently living in the Azores, working for the department of defense.

I know that area Dan. I am looking to buy a house in the Wimberly area. Maybe after I retire, we can get up a joint mustang rebuild project, and make a zillion bucks by getting grease under our fingenails. :D

Soaring you asked about my town...................The town has a population around 60,000. We have two high schools that have produced five NFL players in the last ten years. Usually one of the two schools is in the state title game. Football is big here and most people are either Clemson or Carolina.
Several movies have been filmed here. Mel Gibson's "The Patriot" and "Carrie II" most recently. They casting for a new movie now, but I don't know much about it other than it's set in the 40's.
The artist Vernon Grant was from Rock Hill. He was known for gnomes. The most famous of which were the Snap,Crackle and Pop charecters on the cereal box.
Oh crops....Peaches and cotton.

Yeah thats what alot of people say and I agree. Not sure how good are band is now. I konw that the school news said something about it at times, but I didn't care much about what was going on. The only time that I had a newspaper from school I used it to hit my friend in the head the gave it back.

You'll get there Syntax. Just keep plugging away, and someday soon you will be cruising around Disneyland. I was at Disneyland in Anaheim several years ago, and was standing in the street in front of a shop, when lo and behold, Dolly Parton came out of the store. I asked to have a picture taken with her, and she agreed. Yeah, she is definitely well endowed. :D

WOW! That is a beautiful car. Have you thought about lowering the front end? Or will the engine lower it to what you want? A 416 huh? Never heard of one. Tell us about that engine.

The engine and c-6 combo will add about 800 lbs to the front end, and the Shelby drop may bring it down another 1/2 inch. Which should bring it down where it should be. Also I added a before paint and body work photo.
I am from a the small town of Nipomo California.

Ths is another shot before the body and paint work, with part of the cheap red paint job still on the drivers door. The factory paint was Vintage Burgandy, which is now the color of the car. I'll post more photos after the engine is installed. Thanks for the positive comments, it's taken 8 years to get it to this point!

Originally from Rochester NY... Left there in 76' for a tour with the Air Force and ended up in Phoenix Arizona. I now live just outside Phoenix in Gilbert AZ, the fastest growing city in the country. It sure keeps me busy as a real estate appraiser. The Mustang below I just purchased off eBay 2 weeks ago. It's currently in transit and should be here Friday, 8/12. This is my first Ford classic. I've always owned GTO's, just wanted something alittle more sporty this time. When this one is paid off i'll probably get another 67' GTO and enjoy both.

Hi Soaring,
First I want to thank you for all the help you give us. I live in Steamboat Springs, Colo. They have a big rally here every year. Close main street through town to park em. Draws a large crowd. There were 450 stangs here this year. To much fun. First attempt at sending a pic. of my car. Just got the console in today. Added the woodgrain to match my pony interior. I put the GT stripes on as wishfull thinking ;)
