So I stop at my dealer to pick up some touch-up paint for my car, and see they have a BULLITT on the lot. I stroll over to and spy the inside, check out the exhaust, wheels.... and then I get to the sticker, the official sticker said $32,180... then there was an extra page to the left, Model Availibilty Markup or something like that... $10,000!!! I couldn't believe it, the Shelby GT that was there last month was that much without any mark up other than Shelby's. I think it's just plain wrong. Grand total of $42,180 for a bone stock Ford Mustang Bullitt GT. You can get a GT and do a heck of lot more to it for that much. INSANE! They had a $20K markup on the GT500, when they had it.
Doesnt surprise me.....U could probably get a GT and BUY all the Bullitt Accessories for much cheaper than it would cost to get the actual Bullitt As you said.... If you're lucky, you could probably find a GT500 for the same.
Wow, markups on Bullitts and GT500s?? Dealer I just bought my 08GT from had two Bullits at sticker. Too bad they were black or I may have picked that up instead of mine Got my 08 for invoice.

was at the dealer on monday getting recall work done and they had a new bullitt in green, no markup, just sticker at like 34K. They also had a cobra gt500, but no sticker on it(I think the owner was driving it, had a dealer tag on it) and a used 2007 gt500 with 8,000 miles on it for 38k, to bad it was an automatic! I don't mind an auto in my v6, but in a gt500?????
I didn't know you could get an auto in the GT500...
Uh, I didn't either, so I asked the guy and he said "It's just a gt500, which you can get an auto in, its not a shelby, which only comes in a stick". I dunno, first one I ever saw with an auto.
Well I'm gonna say something is very wrong... Just checked the website not an option.
I will be back at the dealer next week, I will take a pic of it and post it up, it's black, spoiler delete, with an auto tranny. I just looked on the dealers website and they don't have it listed on the website.
Just an edit so I don't look like a tard, I know this was not a gt/v6/bullitt. I swear it was a gt500. But I am searching the internet and can't find one with an auto transmission. So maybe I am mistaken, but I am still taking a picture of it an posting it on here, LOL

there is no GT500 auto because there is no american automatic street preformance transmission in the world that can handel that HP unless you go German or Italian.
400hp is fine, but 500hp simply does not work, Chevy was playing around with developing their own auto box for the ZO6 but dropped the project. It is impossible in this day and age that there could be a GT500 auto.
FWIW, from what I could extract from the Shelby Automobile site, the Shelby GTs can come with an auto.
You beat me to it, I just found that to, so it is probably a Shelby GT, and not a GT 500, even though the goofy salesman said it wasn't a "shelby", but I didn't see shelby anywhere on it, and swore it had a gt500 sticker on the side, but maybe it just said GT. Who knows, was still a sweet ride.
I think that, other than for Ferraris, dealer markup on any car is sodomy without Vaseline. Having said that, I can understand that some Ford dealerships would markup the Bullitt, as it will be a future collector's item. Of course, you can upgrade a GT to the level of the Bullitt, but it won't carry the mystique, the sentimental excitement or especially the resale value of the specially-made Bullitt.
Oh they are, I drooled all over the white/silver striped Shelby GT when they had it on the lot. My concern is if it's fake, you can look at the front end and instantly tell if its a GT500 or not. the SGT just has what looks to me like a cali special front. If it's got the GT500 body parts, and an auto, someone is pulling a fast one. If it is a clone, they're waiting for a sucker to stick it to. "It's just a GT500... not a Shelby..." that's sacriledge.

$10K markup, though. Mm-mm-mm. Shame.
Well they're already more expensive than a loaded GT, my bank won't finance $10K over for "collector status". And as far as resale, the minute you leave the dealer, it just depreciated $10K!
pardon me if im wrong... but isnt the gt500 and the shelby gt both shelby products... the shelby gt only has 325hp... much like the gt350s of the 60s, and the gt500 has 500hp. so shelby gts could come wiht an auto seeing as its only 25hp more than a stock Ford mustang GT (no shelby name) and the Shelby gt500 cannot bc of the hp numbers.

The GT500 is made by Ford SVT, comes from the factory the way it is. Shelby GTs started out as regular GTs that left the factory "normal", went to Shelby's facility and were reworked. The GT500 I saw didn't have a signed/number dash plate, the SGT did.
