Hi.. this is my first post and I'm exited to be here. here goes...

My girlfriend and I have always wanted to rebuild a 1967-styled mustang... we found one on craigslist and this is our question... should buy it?!?!

This is what the seller wrote: "Rebuilt 302 and transmission, holley intake, holley carburetor, mallory ignition, electric fan headers, dual exhaust, aftermarket gages, and new brake booster, master cylinder, prop valve, disc brakes in front drums in rear new suspension in front." Price is $3000.

The biggest disadvantage that I can find is it's an automatic :( I'm thinking about converting it to a 5-speed manual.

I've got 4 questions for you guys... hopefully someone knows the answer:
- Is this a good deal? I'm really not sure...
- Does anyone know how hard it is to switch to a manual? I'm thinking of doing it myself, but I'm not sure about the work / $$$ involved. I've heard it costs about $3K to have it done.
- Does anyone know how I can tell if this is a 230HP 302 (with a 4bbl carb) or the earlier 210HP 302 (with a 2bbl carb).
- Are there any questions I should ask when looking at the car tomorrow?

Thanks a bunch, looking forward to "getting to know" this place + everyone.

I just realized that this forum probably isn't the right place to ask questions about classic cars... so I'm probably going to move the detailed questions to the classics forum... hope that's OK.

Well i just purchased one on craigslist a 1965 2d coupe with a inline 6 and auto, interior was completely restored but the only thing wrong with out side was the front right where it had a wreck, gonna cost me 1200 in parts and another 1500 in labor since some new problems were found.
