ive had no problems taking them in my Edge, ive beaten two. one on the street and another on the highway. i only had my catback and the "performance" tune from Diablo. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with driver skill.

Finally had a S197 roll next to me at a light

Rolled down the window....he said his was a year old, totally stock...VERY CLEAN

I asked him if he wanted to take a run......he was down......and then he got a REALLY good view of my rear bumper

I tell you, I thought with the big 300+HP numbers that they boast that it would have been a little closer......I really blew him out

You guys have any experience with racing them??

Good kill....  A bone stock fox has about 85hp less than the new GT but weighs roughly 600 lbs less.  With aftermarket heads, cam, intake, full exhaust and a couple other mods I would expect your car to have roughly 300 hp.

300RWHP seems totally possible with your mods

a CAI + tune S197 will put down roughly 280-290RWHP and still be about 700lbs heavier... henceforth my standing on the subject

I know I will be close, but a stock bottom-end with my mods always seems to fall shy of that 300-mark........

I plan on hitting the dyno in the next month or two.......if I hit 300?!?  I will be sure to post a shot of my numbers

What's up with the bashing of the vette/vette guys lately? It's a little ****ed up to pick on a vette guy for no reason. He wanted to ask some things and make some points and you talk to him like your the ****ing king of england and he's a peasant(not really you the other guy whom I will not state a name of). You should be happy he's not saying stuff like "I would have have put greyhounds on both of you in my Z06". Bam's a cool guy who I've never seen try and put someone down that didn't try and do it to him. I've learned a bunch of stuff from him and he's very knowledgable. And you'd be lucky to ever test drive a Z06 and daily drive an STI(both modded) buddy so lay off his ass noob.

And if you seriously think a vette is ugly, or don't like a vette guy in this forum, get the hell out of the street/strip section my friend. The vette is as much as america's car(maybe more high-end) as the mustang and a hell of a lot faster and better at handling. Com'on

LOL! 505HP, go kart handling, and a 6 speed will do that to you. And in no way do I consider vette converters going to the dark side. F-bodies as you all know are another story though since they directly compete with mustangs.

One of my toughest races ever was against a modded fox body. The weight on those things just makes modifications more potent.

ya i raced one at the track. i ran a 14.1 and he was runnin 14.8s all day

A 14.8 is what a stock Fox usually runs on average, well around there.  A stock S197 with a good driver will run mid 13's all day long.

To the OP, you have a strong running Fox, probably putting down upwards of 260-270rwhp, which is what a stock S197 puts down, but like others have already stated, you weigh about 600-700lbs less than he does.

lol, well I do it with everyone but most of the time it ends peacefully, and most people don't snipe my posts and then try to pass it off like I started it as a way out

at least when I debate with you it's about a disagreement in the OP.... not over a personal opinion  I had halfway through the thread, it's honestly getting old dealing with over the hill members around every post I make here

I could say an average ballsack should have X amount of lint critters on the pubes then low and behold vettes would fall from the heavens disagreeing with me about it

I take comfort in the fact knowing that wherever this thread goes now is on his hands because he had to get a word in on something I had an opinion about, basically only concerned with me and not the OP... well now he's got my attention

Very true, we always end up debating/arguing about something and then its over, and you're right, it is usually about the OP or whatever he said.  I got busted on my opinion a few days ago, but I guess not everyone can have one of those anymore.

Fair enough.  Next time a GTO runs a 13.6 at the track, I will assume he had full bolt ons too.

The OP claims to have ripped the S197 a new one.  I highly doubt the car was modded.  I think you argue for the sake of arguing.

Nice burn!  I'm not sure who you were talking to though, maybe I just tuned his ass out.
