hey all, i know next to nothing about cams other than the tid bits ive picked up reading around the forums..does an f cam work with speed density? according to the specs on summit its 114 lobe seperation if it does work..whats that cam like?
If I remember right, no. I tried one in an SD car I had once and it would not idle, move or anything. All it would do is make a bunch of noise. In the notes on the summit page it says it won't work with SD.
i have found that alot of things summit advertises they mess up the specs on alot of things. the f cam has a 109 lsa according to ford racing so it will not work!
i have heard people running an e cam on speed density and geting away with it. but i thnk the lsa on the f is too far for for the computer to compensate.
thats cool..i didnt know that ill have to seriously consider doing that before i buy anything for my car megasquirt is one of the best ones isnt it? are there any others?

first of all stock springs are junk and not enough for that cam. im half busy right now but to give you a general idea...keep stock lifters and get new springs, whats the lift on a e cam? .499/.510 or something like that? id like to see your spring pressure up inthe low 300s
You can't trust everything that Summit says. I bought a cam kit that was supposed to be specifically compatible with my car. It was a sn95 5.0. It came with flat tappet lifters. WTF?! Friggin tards!
i have the fcam in my 94 f-150 wich is a mass air vehicle and it still doesn't idle right , you have to help the truck along forabout a min then it will take and hold idle at 1k .
just go mass air, or put a carb on it if you want to go with the f cam, I have a f cam I getting ready to put in my car but Im going to carb
