I did my calipers "Tungsten Gray", on a black car with black wheels. The epoxy finish came out looking metallic black with a purple tinge. Not what I expected, but I like its subtlety. Debating whether a MUSTANG decal in orange would be an enhancement or a liability.
Here's my pic of my black ones with the pony...pics was taken about 2 yrs ago when I still had the stock rims and fascia...but you get the point.. BTW, it looks like the brake pad is also painted, but its not...must be a shade thing.

I found the rough casting of the calipers wasn't good for decal adhesion, the decals seemed to 'fly' on the edges. Perhaps an abrasive polishing wheel on a drill would buff a flat area suitable for decals? Red seems to be the caliper colour of choice for the masses, it's an unwritten rule I reckon. (Yes, my fronts are Red, rear is Black ).
