Tire 315/35/17

MooseStang88 -> Tire 315/35/17 (3/27/2008 10:40:37 AM)

I see that a lot of you guys are running this tire size 315/35/17. I am thinking about getting a set and am wondering what are the comments about this size of a tire? I was also told that I should run 255/40/17 in the front. Anything you guys would have changed or went with? It will be on an 01 GT.

Thanks

I was also looking into going with 03/04 cobra wheels with 315-35-17 tires on a 17x10.5 rim. will I have any problems fitting these wheels on my car, it is an 02 gt convertible with the rear quad shocks.

After i did the research on these size wheels for my future mod i found they will fit with no problems unless you upgrade to huge brakes. My plan was to throw some 315/35/17's on 17X10.5 rims for the rear and 275/40/17's on 17X9 rims on the front.

I agree with Torch. I am currently running 295/30/18's on 10.5" replicas on my Saleen. I have 1/2" spacers installed to bring wheel outward to fill well nicely (had to install longer lug-bolts to do so) and have no rubbing whatever. I will go with 315's upon my next replacement of my PS2's and will most likeley need to remove my spacers or go with 1/4" ones so I don't rub on fenders. I will say that I have a complete Griggs GR-40 supsension system, and fenders are rolled, so this helps with clearance as well.

EDIT: Not only is the Saleen lower than stock GT, but due to my suspension set-up, I was
       able to drop it approx. 1/2" further and still no rubbing.
