I was just reading over the specs and the upgrades that Saleen does to that car...and-----DAMN!
That is such a sweet car! I was thinkin about it and why it was so much money, but for what they do to that thing, it's a whole different car basically. All those out there that have one, you're all verrrryy lucky! I'd love to have one of those. Even if I built my car up (which I plan on doing) to have more power, it still just wouldn't be the same.
Good luck to all of those who have and will have Extremes! Just don't mess them up! lol

I can only speak for me, but I agree with you... the E kicks ass. With less then 100 in existance (-1 with Birdieman's unfortunate situation) its a pretty rare car. I actually heard somewhere that several of the E's were destroyed in accidents. Can't remember if that was Birdie that said that or not. Anyway, too much car for them I guess. There are rarer Saleens of course, but I think the E's are the coolest.

Yah, seriously. I hope to God they are still making Extremes in 15 years when I can actually afford one. Such immaculate cars. To those that do own them, [sm=bounceybounce.gif][sm=hail.gif]
But if you think bout it, look at the price of them now and imagine how much they will cost in 15 years, with the price of everything in the world, going up like it is

Saleen told me that 10% of all the E cars sold new got wrecked within the first 3 months of ownership. I can seriously understand this, because you need to learn to drive a twin screw car. Power coming in quick can tend to upset the car's handling coming out of corners. In my car's case, it was upgraded drasticly hp wise, and the mechanic floored it in 3rd gear on the freeway, broke the rear tires loose going 65, and started spinning.[:@]

Power comes in quick too doesn't. When I went to buy the car in Indiana, the owner took me for a drive in it. We were just sort of cruisin and then he punched it and when that twin screw blower started screaming, I was just stunned (and pushed WAY back against the seat). I've been in some quick cars, but I was like DAMN. I just read in the saleen book where Steve Saleen compares the sound to an Indy or formula one car, that sounds about right. I really love these cars!

Spinning the series 5 at 10 psi sounds impressive. Spinning the blower at 18 psi is flat wickid. Above 14 psi, that blower's sound was unbelievably loud and sinister and often kept cars from racing me.
