I generally don't race in a V6 Mustang, I find it sort of demeaning...

It's been a while since I had a good race. I think the latest one was with a 97+ Prelude from a stop light. Not sure what all he had other than exhaust but he lost.

Itry not tostreet race, these races were all at the rack. Granted the 5.0 did run a 12.6, but i was the one who got the white paper at the end. The turbo miata was a close one, his turbo must of been too big beacuse it didn't spool up until 1/2 way down the track but i got him, barley.

How close was the race? If he had a good Intake and Exhaust then I could see him beating you if he knew how to drive. Did he have head work done or did you mean headers? If he had a headers back exhaust and a CAI then I could see it being about even with him having an edge. If he had an exhaust, intake and head work then I could see him taking you easily.

The non-turbo models have 140hp and weigh 200-300 lbs less than the Mustang. If he had work done to the car and your car is stock then I don't see how you beat him unless he couldn't drive or his car was running like absolute ass.

Nice, you must of got em on a hole shot, good ****! Awesome color man, is that stock, I've never seen that color on the street and I live in Mustang haven. Regardless, I want your car, or at least that color anyway. :D

Just intake/headers/exhaust. I'm curious, why does everyone assume that the guy in the slightly lesser car that wins, wins because they raced a crappy driver? Does anyone not think that maybe there are some people out there that actually know how to drive?

I have only lost against one of them and he had a complete dual exhaust and CAI. I don't know why people try to race a V6 when it is stock or nearly stock, they are not fast or quickand it is sort of an embarassment to the Mustang name.

And yeah, my bad about the header thing. I'm so used to saying headers because my two car forums (here and ZForums) both have V6 engines, so headers is just what I call them.

my brothers 99 tiburon 5 speed 2.0 got him 3 times i think he should of won though can really drive a stick lol and friends 98 neon 5 speed 2.0 got ate up every time and 03 grand prix beat him

It is very hypocritical. The difference is that I am not the one that instigates the races. I know how slow V6 Mustangs are and I don't see the point in trying to "race" one... I will indulge someone though just to prove to them that they shouldn't be trying to "race" something that slow when they can't properly drive it to start with.

I have a single-port V6, the only thing that I have done performance wise is CAI and short-shifter. The rest is in suspension. Their should be no way that I am beating lightly modified or stock split-ports. The people that are driving them don't know how to launch a car or how to drive it once they have it going. Most people seem to think that if you keep the car floored at all times then you are going as fast as possible...:eek:I don't think that I am the best or worst driver, maybe slightly better than most in a stick but that should not give me the edge I would need to over come 40hp. I rather suck at trying to get an auto to launch properly. lol

I know the topic is old but anyways...On my way back from school todaytwo dudes in some
1000000% ricer zx2 with some space shuttle wingpulled next to me and started reving (and that can was loud as hell).The passenger was waivingand counting on fingers till 3. Once he got 3I hit the gas and next I saw in my miror was them just making the noise behind. For the next mile or two they were driving behind me not even daring to try again.Its not like I was racing some badass car but I just want to say it doesn't matter if its a sixer it still have something to show anddeserve some respect...especially from those ricers!

diffrent SN95 GT5spd - Beat him on 8lbs buy Bus & 1/2. (on the worst Backroad I've ever dirven on and ran a stop sign) Dont feel like street racing anymore for a while.

crappy tuned now @ 11lbs, lookn' for 99+ GT to race after I get retuned.

i beat a 96cobra but i will say that he had 4 other people in his car which is about another 700 lbs and he also did a horrible launch and just burned out but once he hooked up he caught me at about 65 mph and then just took off but at least i had him for quite some time

I reced a nice little Integra Type-R. He was running his mouth at a light saying my POS v6 mustang has nothing on him. Funny thing is its was my GT. Boy did he looked stupid after i put a few lengths on him.... Pony side emblems FTW! lol

a few weeks back i raced 2 of my coworkers on the way back home 1 had a eclipes and i won the other had a poniac bonniville that i won and it could not go over 100 lol

one has a 2003 or 2004 impala 3.4 sfi with intake
one has a durango 5.9

i had a race a while ago with this civic, idk what it had on it but it seemed like a bit, dead even from a 30 roll all the way to 80 that was pretty cool no one really won lol

The last race I had in my stang was against a slightly modded v8 f150, beat him pretty bad.

I haven't raced in a long time though, nobody wants to race my vette? People used to mess with me in the mustang all the time, but now all I get is "nice car" or "what you got under the hood?"

3 days ago (here is my S&S post)

me, 02 v6 vert, full exhaust with LTs, K&N, and a vmp 91 performance tune, 275s out back

him: 00 Grandprix GTP (supercharged) with intake, mid length headers, 3" O/R Y pipe, a tune, and stock 3.8 pully, 255s all around

run #1,~20 mph roll, i honk three times and we both get on it, i pull about a car length up until about 60 mph and he procedes to put about 1.5-2 car lengths on me till we shut down at 85

run #2, 10 mph roll, im in first, he honks three times, i nail it,and slam it back to D, i pull about a car and a half maybe 2 cars and spin hardcore going into secondtill about 65 where he passes me and probably has 3 cars on me when we let off at 95 mph

over all we were both happy (we more just wanted to run to see the differance in our tuning) but he said that since the race was closer then he thought hes going to go home and put his 3.3 pully on
