I remember "back in the day" we would put different size wheels on the back and front of the cars and I think they would even come that way from the dealers. Can you still put a 18" wheel on the back and a 17" wheel up front on the new 2005-2008 Mustangs? I have a 2005 GT and it still has the stock 17" shoes on it. I was thinking about putting 18's on the back and leaving the stock 17's up front since they are bullets and that is what I want to buy anyway. Just wondering...any help will be appreciated. Jeff

I dont see why not, but i'm not an expert on that year of Mustangs. The only thing I would caution you about is that if you go that route, you wont be able to rotate your tires. You COULD, but then you'd be running the little wheels in the back which would just look weird...

Dont the newer corvettes have 17's up front and 18's in the rear.

Yes, back in the day, there were Cragar rims with raised letter Goodyear T/A's.  Now cars are "slammed" lower insteak of jacked up in the back.

Those were the days.  Time to let go.

Jefffrow, you're going thru the same stage as me with my '06 GT.  I got an S/C installed and after a recent scare I realized I need more hookup/traction on the rear end so I want to change out the rear 17's only to 18's to get wider traction in the rear with bigger tires than the stock 235/55/17's.  Where are you getting your 18" rims from?  Just curious.  Let us know how it turns out.

Dube
