Need help with decisions

RC02GT -> Need help with decisions (3/25/2008 5:27:52 PM)

I want to lower my 02 GT, 72,000 miles. not to low but low enough that its noticable. I like h&r products, maybe the super sports, or just sport spring. Also like steeda and eibach but the steeda's arent low enough, so maybe eibach pro kit. Also I think im going to get tokico s/s, and last MM c/c plates, I was looking around your site, I like the writeup with spring rates. What do you recommend I get, I dont go to the track so I do not need drag springs or anything like that, I just want a lower stance, good ride quality, good handling. I think im set on the s/s and c/c plates but not the springs, h&r's or eibach pro kit, Thanks.

O yea and Im selling the Gt to get a cobra or mach 1 but just want it lowered for now, can I get away with just springs that go no lower than 1.5" and thats it

I would stick with either the H&R Sport Springs or Eibach Pro-Kits... for several reasons.

  1. They lower a noticeable amount, without being too low.
  2. They have a moderate, progressive spring rating. Good for performance and ride comfort.
  3. They will not be too stiff for the Tokico HP's you plan on purchasing, they will be a nice match.

The H&R Super Sports may be a bit too stiff for what you're looking for.

Sincerely,

which do you think will be lower, h&r sport spring or eibach pro kit.

They both lower a very similar amount. On paper, the H&R sports lower slightly more.

is there anything else i need to buy, like little stuff, isolators, bushings...?

Bushings will just increase performance that much more.

Easy to install bushings when installing your springs:
  • front swaybar bushings
  • front endlinks
  • offset rack bushings
  • spring isolators - will lift the suspension 1/4 of an inch higher than oem isolators. If you want to lower the maximum amount, use oem isolators.

Sincerely,
