Does this sound right? (help!)

Painted hood scoop (flat black) + install
Painted rear spoiler (flat black) (Take off + install)

=

$550

Does this price sound right? I already bought the hood scoop, so the $550 is for paint and install. I'm just asking you guys n' gals cause I don't want to get ripped off. The stealership wanted $1100 just for installing and painting the hood scoop. I flat out asked the guy if he thought I was a friggin' idiot and walked off. Any opinions? Thanks in advance :)

that seems a little steep i bought my spoiler after market the guy i had paint it and install it only charged me $100. he worked out of his garage. if i were you i would try to find somebody tha does body work as a hobby. youre only talkin one hour to install both of those then what like two hours to prime paint and clear cot them thts if he does it right i would keep looking if i were you there has to be some body you know that knows a friend that has an aquaintance that does some body work for free.

That sounds pretty high. You can get those parts a lot cheaper, watch ebay. Also if you want the mediumblack look, you can go to the autobody supply store and get a can of plastic adhesion promoter and a can of trim black. They both come in spray cans. Scuff up your pieces with some extra fine sandpaper then clean them really well. Spray them with the adhesion promoter then with the trim black. Be careful, do a good job and let it dry thouroughly. Your scoop and spoiler will match all of the other black trim on your car. Perfectly! This is a great technique for rear window louvers too. It looks just like stock and holds up as well as any other paint on the car. Oh yea, it'l cost you about $25 to do the work.

yeah thats kinda expensive, especially since its flat black and i bet if you had a steady hand you could do it yourself. U dont have to worry about making it look all glossy. However if it was glossy black the price seems about right
