Default number of applications and layering of Optimum stuff

Hey all,

Over the winter I've used ONR and Opti-Seal to clean and protect my car. Now that is (sort of) spring I want to give it an overhaul. I just ordered Optimum's Poli-Seal and Spray wax (Thanks Justin) and am wondering about the numbers of applications and layers of each.

I've clayed it recently and know (think?) the order is ONR, Poli-Seal, Wax, Opti-Seal. I'm wondering if I should do multiple coats of the Poli-Seal before I do the wax; if I should do multiple coats of wax; and if I should alternate wax/Opti-Seal/wax/Opti-Seal. I know I can do multiple coats of Opti-Seal when it's all said and done. Could you guys please comment?

I'm planning to do it all by hand because I don't have, or want to pay for, a PC. What should I use to apply the Poli-Seal?

In case it matters I have an 07 windveil blue convertible that I got used in December.

Thanks.

Tim

Default RE: number of applications and layering of Optimum stuff

You would use the ONR first as your wash. Then you can apply the Poli Seal, I like to apply this with a foam pad so the product goes further. Only one coat of this is needed.

Next you can apply the Wax or the Opti Seal, it is just personal preference with this. I like to put the Opti Seal on after the Poli Seal and then use the Spray Wax for a booster after a wash or just when you want some extra gloss. I like to put on 2 coats of the Opti Seal for the best coverage, after you put on the first coat wait about 30 minutes before you put on your second coat.

You can use the Opti Seal or Spray Wax anytime you want for a boost of protection and looks. You can put them both on super fast. I really like doing multiple coats of Opti Seal, the finish will get glossier and glossier. I think Cooter has some pictures on here of multiple coats of Opti Seal and it looks wicked!
