Default 88 Daytona Shelby Z {Proj. thread} 56K Warning

Well here's my thread on my car...chalked full of pics

Here's What I have done so far. I have towed the car to my new house that I moved into and It came with Garage so that's where my baby sleeps.

I am in the process of restoring the interior (need ideas for seats It's open my friends)
I am also in the process of sanding the clearcoat off my car. Then I can just paint over the original 20 year old Shelby Classic Red Paint. For a 20 year old car there is two small patch of surface rust that I just sanded off...They are about the size of something really small [:'(] I will get pics. (It's going to be metallic blue) (Enamel) My buddy is going to spray it as long as I sand it down. I have about one half of the car done..well the rear pass side anyway but it's a small car.

Back to the interior I have ripped out the headliner cuz the idiot had it all tacked up and it was messy as hell, So I ripped out the front seats and vaccuumed it all up. The carpet is stained to an extent but a carpet cleaner will take care of that.

the gauges are hopefully all going to be redone. the factory Boost gauge only goes up to 15 and I am pumpin out 22 PSI ...so that's getting replaced along with a manual or Electric Boost controller (whatever I can get a bargain on) The Tach as you see in the one video I have It's pretty wonky. And is stuck about about 5 grand, even though there is no battery or anything in. I think it might be blown. The fuel sending unit kicked it so I have to replace that too so I figured I would buy an aftermarket guage for that. The Tach and Spedometer Are going to get some gauges..(I find aftermarket guages are more reliable and precise.)

A steering wheel might be added nothing fancy but I found a cool one on ebay that I think is neat, The middle is wings then the outside is a black wood grain. its about 60 bucks. I'm getting a new shift boot too I've got that stupid industrial 80s lookin rubber boot that I don't like. then my buddy's got some Diamond plate I am going to make a surround for, the Neon center console swap came to mind but I think that's just a hoop dream.

Onto mechanical. I am getting new motor mounts cuz the ones I have are shot but they are about 5 bucks each for front right and front off Rockauto.com

I am redoing the exhaust I was thinking from the Cat back. with a 40 Series. but I want the turbo to be the loudest on the car so I might just go stock ...at least as stock as I can get. as I already said I am going to rebuild the other turbo to head I have maybe with a newer turbo. I need a new CAI the guy bought a cheap Ractive (Wally world) filter but it's crap. I was thinking a cone filter...maybe K&N??? There isn't much wrong with the motor itself just a leaky valve cover gasket, and the motor mounts...and the KMs it has on it...but like I said the top half is gettin rebuilt. cuz I think the bottom half is all forged (feel free to correct me) I was looking for a drop in cam but no luck in my price range.

Thats about it for now ...I'll come back with pics...

did I mention this has to be done for August with three guys workin on it?

I have a bit of work ahead of me and I am lucky I have a job. Dodges....What a money pit :| I'll never learn.

well I'm out boys, comment away Taker Cheezy.

What do you mean that youre pumping 22psi? I hope you don't mean you're running 22psi.

turbosunleashed.com is probably the largest Turbo Dodge oriented distributor as of right now, along with fwdperformance.com

Believe it or not, I'm also very knowledgable on Turbo Dodges. I had an 87 Dodge 600se, my buddy had an 86 Daytona Turbo Z, and another buddy had an 88 Shelby Z. I was into Turbo Dodges before Turbo Fords.

And what did you replace the fart can with? I would have just left it on...

i would hope with a stainless pipe.

that car would look sick with two stainless pipes coming out of the rear end... or maybe a "nice" tuner muffler

two of these would sound nice
