why does the 96 gt have 6 cats? it seems rediculous. right now i don't have the money to get any upgrades for my engine, so i want to give it a nice sound, at a low cost. If i take off the cats will it do nething? i know i can get an h pipe or an x-pipe, but has anyone tried taking off their cats?if anyone has a clip of what theirs sounds like without the cats, e-mail me at dune_buggy_man@hotmail.com thanx

Go to stangnet, they have some nice clips, and yeah you'll really open up the engine by eliminating those cats.

well theres only 4 cats, i think the other 2 are resonators. But yeah it has 6 things on there stock H pipe. What ya should do is do to Mac and get an off road x pipe. Its liek $150. If ya cut out the cat ya have on there, it will probaly end up costing ya more, and ya wont get the same performace. And ya can do the mac x-pipe even if ya have a stock catback system. good luck

You will notice a huge difference if you got rid of all those cats. Of course it would bea nightmaretrying to remove all those cats and replacing with straight pipe. The easy thing to do is just replace it with an off road X or H.
