i need some help! can someone explain the whole cam timing thing to me,
i have a 1988 2.3l turbo motor that i had put together with a aftermaket cam installed in it installed it in a ranger now it seems not to start, it turns over gets fuel and spark but it wont run at all. so i thought i would start with looking at the timing. i put the crank and #1 piston at top dead center then looked at the cam and its marks and noticed that they dont line up. is this possibly the reason why my motor wont run at all. i was told by the shop that long blocked it that they timed it,but something does'nt look right on the cam markings "to me"
