The japanese have done it once again. After all the lovely automotive trends they've given us over the years they have truly outdone themselves with......
FRONT WHEEL DRIVE DRIFTING
Its like watching a one armed man hang christmas lights. I don't know if I want to laugh or feel sorry for the guy.
Man, I am confused. With the flames, spoiler, fart pipe and body kit he HAD to be pushin, like 200 ponies(literally the little horses). he obviously needs to make an adjustment to the spoiler, he has WAAAAAAY too much downdraft working there...... You guys laugh but that is obviously a road ricer, I bet he bags chics left and right with a hot wip like that.
Obviously that was someone who has no concept of D R I F T I N G. I've seen some pretty sick drifts in FWD (done more than a few myself) but technically it's called a powerslide in a FWD because you are only locking the rear and pitching it sideways in a SLIDE (got to get up some real speed though). A true DRIFT can only be done in RWD as you guys here obviously know as MUSTANG owners ! I can't believe this kid kept trying and kept on going after he was RED FLAGGED. What a moron !
It's sofa king ghay though! When I think of drifting, I think of long periods of high angle fishtail UNDER POWER. I don't think you can call a FWD car getting sideways drifting. We can't just re-define something RWD cars have been doing for AGES (flat track, dirt track, modifieds - hell your own ride and the corner down the street) unless there are circumstances that distinguish a car getting sideways from a "drift".
Besides, I used to have a celica that would do amazing things with the back wheel locked up. After six years of driving it I got pretty good at putting that little car anywhere I wanted it with the E brake.
But I sure as hell wouldn't call it a powerslide......that would presume one was sliding under POWER.....not locked up wheels rear tires.....
