I think you would of been better with the procharger, but the vortech is still a great s/c. have fun with it.

no really. they have a regular v2 that's still uber loud, then they have the v2 sq. i had the regular v2 s trim on my car and it was LOUD! my T trim is a lot quieter than that thing was at idle.

i don't have a picture of it and it's long gone, but the head unit only said V2 S on it and it was freaking LOUD. my T trim is a lot quieter than that was. i was under the impression all v2 S trims were sq. after hearing my stepdad's 06 GT with a V2 SQ, or actually, not really hearing it, then i knew there was no way mine was "super quiet".

Well i've seen v2's that dont say "sq" on the head unit.

They are still all "super quiet" because of the helical cut gears! Maybe you had a v1 badged as a v2?

v1 badged as a v2? Why would it be badged?!

i don't see why it would be badged or how it could be badged the way that plate is. i bought it used so maybe it was sent in for repair and they used the old gears that were in a v1. alls i know is my T isn't even a third of how loud the S was :)

Ok guys now I need your help! I talked to this guy from AutoTech(on the phone tho) and he told me that he would need to take a look of S/C and see what has to be done.I told him it's a brand new still in a box anyways he said he will have to see it, and that is OK. He also said it might be neccessary to drill a hole and maybe do some other things. I understood that but I don't really know if it will have to be hole drilled or something else whatever. Can somebody tell me what is neccessary to be done so the sc can be installed, what are themain issues? Again I have a V6 01! Thanks!

Trust me, if I knew anything about supercharger installs I would help. I've never attempted it though. One day I hope to be attempting an M112. Good luck!

I reccomend doing (or trying to do) everything yourself.

make sure you schedule dyno time for tuning the following day if you plan to install it yourself.

Aha yes, you have to buy prochargers oil, some people forget to change it ever xxxx amount of miles, and you've gota love prochargers bearings failing all day long. Not to mention even with an intercooler and more timing (lower intake temps) they only seem to make 10-20more rwhp than the vortech setups.... I change my engine oil ever 2800 miles and I'm done, don't have to change the oil from my s/c also..... you were saying?

lol how was taping the oil pan and the eBay intercooler?

which Vortech makes the awful noise...all of them?

and yes changing the procharger oil is awful...a screwdriver for the top and hex for bottom.ahhhh! My girlfriend can do that!
and its every 6k miles, so thats every1 prochargeroil change for your 2.

(Sorry for the really late reply I forgot about this thread)[&o]

Awful noise? You mean the eargasim whine that every gear head loves? I mean gota love procharger bearings going out ever 6months and having to send it back in:D

Ok I'll let you know if it's whining or whistling...but let me put it on first...lol. Anyways I found this place dynotunemp.com and I heard alot pros for them. I called them and they said they can do it in 2 days which sux tho, but the price is not bad (about 500ish, and I found another place they said one day and 900) so I'll go with them! However I got another problem now. My right front rim is getting dirty, more than ussualy...what is that about? I think I'll have to get a new brake pad!

Thats odd im near Lansing, MI

anyway...It about time for you to do the same thing I did when I got the Stang. Man Up!

Start gettn' dirt, it helps learn, and saves money.Padsarnt a big deal!

Might as well get some Performance Rotors while you've got the rim off.
I got ebay ones with pads for $205.

But shop around and get a decent set so you dont have to deal with brake dust or it wearing down quickly.
