Samll Trans Noise

I hear a rattling when I am idling with the clutch out. It sounds like its coming from the trans. When you push the clutch in the noise goes away. Does anyone know what this might be? Thanks

Mine does the same thing, when I took it to Ford to get it checked out they said it was normal and gave a me a formal statement from ford discussing the issue. I also noticed that my Jeep Wrangler does the same thing. My mechanic noticed it at first (since I usually have the music to loud to notice) and did not think it was serious but thought since it was still under warranty that I should at least bring it to them. I haven't noticed any issues driving the car though.

welcome to the world of mustang transmissions......LOL.....

i asked about the same thing.....its how the car is if you willl.......

and its my understanding that mustangs arent ususally known for the quietest trannys

my car runs fine and frankly its hardly noticable......kinda like that rock mark everyone has on their car that no one sees, but it drives you crazy cause you know its there.....LOL

It's an issue with all manual trans. Mine does it too. Push in the clutch and it gets a little quiter. Put it in 1st and it goes away. It has something to do with a cover over a part in the transmission. I have read other posts about it just try and look deeper to see what they say and if I find it again I will let you know.
