Default Comparable to the JL W3

Alright, so I've heard JL is top notch, however, there are other products that are better for the money. I think the 12" W3V3 would be perfect for what I'm looking for, but I'm not sure if I wanna shell out that kind of money at this point. I'm looking for the same SQ, but a cheaper alternative. What should I be looking for?

What you're looking for in terms of what? Quality? Output? Box size?
What are you looking for exactly?

eD made a subwoofer to directly compete with the Dub3. It's louder, sounds just as good if not better, and far cheaper.

The woofer plays a smaller part than you think,95% of the time aproperly desinged and built speaker box will lend you more output and sound quality than just stepping up to a different woofer. And there are many other woofers out there that for the same price will outperform the W3. I would look into Memphis, AudioQue, Fi car audio, RE audio, ect.

Yes it's a 12". The box you have is not the greatest but I assume you got it to use minimal space, so if your happy with it continue to use it. It looks like its about1 cu so the eD woofer will function just fine in it. You also have the option of getting the silver or black cone, and as always eD's 5 year warranty. What kind of amp are you going to be using?

go with the W3 you will be vey happy wen you can turn it all the way up with no distortion, menphis , audioque, and fi, arnt going to sound as "clean" they are louder however, W3's will be very clean and perform very good as far as Spl goes, i would get a better box, one thats ported and tuned, im getting this guy - ecce@mertrocast.com to build be a custom box for my 2 W612's

Nice budget amp, if you have or bought that at Crutchfield you could have picked it up from woofersetc.com for about half of what Crutchfield has it for.

What box are you putting this in or are you building/having one built for you?
