Hey guys, so I decided i'm going to get an exhaust and have been looking up a lot of stuff, and a lot of sources really change up in regards to pricing, and quality of each exhaust. I've mostly been looking at Magnaflow's, Flowmasters, FRPP's, and Borla. I'm leaning to the flowmasters because they seem to be good for the price, but every shop I go to jumps around from charging me 300-800 dollars to do the installation, so it makes me wonder if the ones doing it for so cheap are doing it half-ass or something.
Could somebody tell me how they feel about each the exhausts and possibly which is one is the best deal? I'm worried that the flowmasters will crackle a bit too much and that it could possibly be worth it to step it up to FRPP's or Borla's. Also if you can give me a decent price-range for each of them so I have an idea of what 'not' getting ripped off is. Thanks a lot!
FRPP's get a lot of good reviews here (do a search for FRPP duals or just browse around and you'll fall ass backwards into a post about them). As far as prices are concerned, I believe CJ Pony Parts had the FRPP duals pretty cheap last month at around $525, but it was some kind of special sale or something that is over now. I'm getting my FRPP duals from a licensed FRPP dealer in NJ for $575, while the MSRP of them on Ford's website is $665. Soooo I'd say the $575 is a price where you're not getting ripped off, unless of course Ford is just severely overvaluing these things.

If you buy a dual conversion kit from Pypes, FRPP, JBA, Ninosport, etc. the installation cost shouldn't be too high. Probably around $100-$150. If you are just buying axlebacks and taking it to a shop to have duals custom fabricated, the installation price will be higher. If you are mechanically inclined, it is not too difficult to do the install yourself if you buy a complete conversion kit. Last week I installed the Pypes true duals kit with x pipe and Street Pro mufflers in my garage on jackstands. I used a sawzall to cut the factory y-pipe and a dremel to cut the rear bumper. After that, the installation just required basic hand tools. The install was pretty easy and I didn't have any fitment problems. I am happy with the Pypes system. It sounds great and the 4" polished tips look really good.
