We have been dealing with Brenspeed for our parts and tunes. We bought a Steeda CAI with the XCalibratorII Tuner. I installed it and you can notice the performance difference. We are getting a Saleen 475hp Super Charger From Saleen for 40% off list & I am going to have Brenspeed Install and tune for us. Again Thank You For All Your Advice & Support. Jeff T. ptkthekid I take it you work at Brenspeed???

Yeah the out the door price on the S/C Was $3,990. Thats with the intercooler & all mounting brackets and hardware. I figure $1,000-$1,500 on the install & tune. Everything is in the works. My Son is currently out on Mission for the next 3 Months so things will be on hold for a bit. Again Thank You For Your Support!! Jeff T.

Its a good thing your doing for your son. I remember my first deployment when my mom built my truck up for me while I was gone, second one she started my mustang for me and this third one I have my mechanic finishing my stang while I am in Bahgdad.
Ill tell you what it does help out with Moral ALLOT
the next things that should be really considered
Alum Drive Shaft Clutch with Alum Flywheel Rear End Gears 3.73 are great gears Rear Suspension and chassis upgrades K-Member and Adjustable A-Arms (you said he wants to road race this will help lighten the car and improve handeling) All new shocks and coilovers MGW Shifter
Those should give him a pretty good start for what it sounds like he wants to do. Just remember power is a huge thing but suspension is whats going to make that power go to the ground.
Start off with a Kenne Bell or Whipple Intercooled kit. Kenne bell is capale of 850 rwph and the whipple is right there too. Get one of those and run around 10 PSI untill you build all the componets up...
God Bless The Core

excellent choice on the saleen kit and brenspeed install. i'll just reiterate, if your son wants to road race the car, i'd do a suspension overhaul.
Koni Yellows Springs (eibach, steeda, etc.) wither an adjustable pangard bar and brace or switch to a watts link, steeda just came out with a new one that looks awesome, i'd do that on the rear end. LCA's UCA (Steeda competition upper 3rd link) rear sway bar camber plates and an excellent alignment
add some good rubber and you should be ready to go suspension wise. then get some stainless braided brake lines, high performance brake fluid, and some better pads and it should be ready to tackle the road course.
of course it might be better to wait on switching much of the suspension until he gets comfortable racing the car in stock form first. unless he has experience, the car is more capable than he is right now so modding suspension will only make the gap bigger. once he races it a few times and finds the limits of the car, then change a few things. find the limits again, change a few thing, etc ,etc.
Ok so now we have a game plan, Thank You all for you Support and Advice It is Greatly Appreciated!! We are going with the Steeda CAI & Brenspeed Tune while we gather parts for the build up, It will be like Christmas around here for awhile there is a Saleen Super Charger on the way, New Goodyear F1 235/45ZR/17's Front 255/40's Rear, As of yet we are undecided which Suspension upgrade to do, We are considering the Steeda Stage 3 Handling Pack Which Includes:
555-8215 - Steeda Sport Springs
555-5718 - Steeda Steel Strut Tower Brace
555-1050 - Steeda Adjustable Front Sway Bar
555-1052 - Steeda Rear Sway Bar w/ Endlinks
555-8405 - Steeda Pro-Action Shocks & Struts
555-8108 - Steeda X5 ball joints
555-8106 - Steeda Bump Steer Kit We will also going with the Steeda 3 Point Frame Rail & Torque Box Brace Also for Chassis Stiffening will be a 6 Point Roll Cage. (more than likely custom made to be as non-obtrusive as possible want to maintain somewhat stock looking interior). There is also trim parts for the interior and under the hood rolling in, Once the weather gets good enough to have the car out and get pictures I will start documenting everything. Also in the time I have been working on My Boys Mustang I got bitten by the Mustang Bug, I ran across a 1989 Fox Body Notch Back GT 5.0, 5 Speed, The motor is strong and don't leak, It has a Saleen Body Kit that needs work, The body is in alright shape it needs some work and a good paint job but for the price it was worth it just for the drive train. The young man I bought it off of uses it for a DD. He was getting to many tickets so Mommy & Daddy made him sell it LOL. Damn right place at the right time I made a offer as a joke and the next thing I know I own a Fox Body. I almost stole the car it happened so fast. So I guess I will be seeking info on that soon, Time to start another thread.LOL Again Thank You For Everything Jeff & LCpl Jay

You don't need the strut tower brace, it's dead weight and these S197's are nice and stiff stock!
Here are some pictures of the beginning of the project, The Steeda CAI & Brenspeed 92 Octane Tune Are Awesome. He went with the ZEX NOS 75HP-125HP Shot also. I had to install the bottle today so he could see the location of it so he can figure out where he wants everything else.(relocate battery to the trunk, plus two 12" Sub Woofers) I am sure glad he bought the Super Charger and decided to wait on installing that untill we get the suspension and exhaust done. But He said he needed something just incase so in came the NOS. LOL He just ordered the underhood dress up things also. All I know is I have the UPS, Fed-Ex & DHL Delivery at my door all the time. Now we are working on getting all the parts for the exhaust worked out. We are thinking Ceramic Coated Long Tube Headers with an Off Road X-Pipe, No-Cats, Coming out the back with something Huge & Loud. Thank You For All Of You Support And Advice!! I Think We Will End Up With An Awesome WAR PONY When We Are Done!! Jeff T. & LCpl Jay

It won't fit with the Saleen SC anyway.
Plus the part number listed (555-5718) is for a V-6 only!
Thanks we caught that number mix up when we decided to go a different route on the suspension!! We don't know which route yet but we are working all that out. We ran across some things that we figured we should take care of first such as the new shifter(Steeda Tri-Ax) The new clutch, and the new aluminum drive shaft. Then we will be stiffening the chassis and putting drive shaft hoops and all that up under the car then the suspension upgrades. Unless something else pops up!! Thanks for being so observent regarding that part number, That is awesome that there are sites out here with people that care about there Mustang Lifestyle. Again Thank You So Much For The Advice!! Jeff T. & LCpl Jay.

I want to suggest something for the suspension, look at the Grigg kits. These things are the full package and if you question the type of results you would get, look on youtube. There are several videos of Griggs cars on some hill climbs.
Thank You. You are the second person that sent me towards Griggs they have a sweet system I am studying it and getting some real user input. I have a system picked out I think my Son will like it and the results it will produce!! The kit I think that will give him everything he may ever need, would be the S197 GR40ST Ultimate Street Complete Chassis

Yeah it seems to get the job done and it is something that we wanted to gradually work up too!! But it is everything that we will be end up doing anyways. Its a big one time expense but well worth it. I still want to study other options before we jump into something like this. We like the plug and play operation of this system it requires very little drilling and just a little welding and the car can be returned to stock with no issues. If you get it before us let us know how you like it.LOL Thank You Jeff T.
