I have an original/stock '88 mustang lx 5.0/5spd. I am in the process of aquiring parts for a 5 lug swap. I have been reading a few tech how-to articles and they refer to 7.5 rearends from rangers and bronco II's.

I was under the impression I had an 8.8 rearend....and not a 7.5

It its an 8.8 would you get axles from any two 4.0 liter ranger? If its a 7.5 would you get them from a earlier ranger??

How do you tell the difference and or what rearend did these cars come with?

Thanks Jim
